He wasn't that much of a lesson himself, really. He once told Stan is nothing, defeated man, arrested and robbed of his life. Well, he was just projecting, and the thing was that Homelander is nothing. A grown child, everything handed to him. No talents or anything. Literally anyone could do better. The real lesson is to avoid such people. And that sometimes the most cold and uncaring thing you can make is give something to someone who does not deserve it a single bit. When it's power, you'll also make people suffer.

In order to learn he must accept that he *needs* to learn, which Homelander can't do as he would see needing to learn anything as a flaw. He has to feel as though he is perfect as he is, with no room for improvement.

I think she actually says EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) it's supposed to measure how profitable a business's "core operation" is before all that other stuff. Companies like to use it because it makes them sound more profitable than that actually are, as depreciation and especially amortisation are actually pretty core to many business models, so EBIT is generally considered a better measure of profitability.

Super simplified: These changes to the company are going to cost us some money (not clear if she means short term or long term), how are you going to talk about that to the people who own stock in the company. She basically said profit (EBITDA margins) will be slightly down, probably meaning that operating expenses will be higher (at least temporarily) due to the costs of reorganizing the company, and asked how he would talk about that to shareholders (people who own stock in the company) on the earnings call.
