Sir Keir is a very serious, get down to work type of PM. He is going to hold his cabinet strictly accountable for their actions and make sure they get their job done. It's good to see a politician who takes his job seriously and is willing to put in the hard work necessary to achieve his objectives. Sir Keir is the real deal!
Stop throlling.. He is not at all looking like a male with 'iron nuts'.. Not a harismatic person, like Rishi Sunak or Boris Johnson, for instance.. Talking pretty nervious.. Always looking at you with that wary look, like a street cat ready to get scared & run away.. Let's see, sometimes i get wrong, maybe he is a political genious street cat.. 😉
this nation is in dire need of politicians, not clowns. The comments make it clear the public has gotten too used to spectactle in place of governance.
Couldn't agree more!! Some sound responses as well. I like that he's honest and not over committing or panic responding. This is the first time EVER I have heard of a child poverty strategy which obviously ideally we wouldn't need but it's so good to hear that something long term and sustainable will be done. Similarly the prison appointment is sound better because Timpson has always done so much in this space and will do a good job. I also liked the self interest shade at the start. We now have a decent government with their heads screwed on focused on delivery and service like he said. Proud. Great first press conference imo. We are lucky to have him.
I can't imagine a government as professional & focused as this, will want to be associated with the (unnecessarily expensive) location of Billy Bunter's buffoonery and lies.
@@patrickswan4537 then what becomes of it? Keir wants to demonstrate what his government are doing, and keep us informed. Re-invent it, as a use for good.
My elderly dog and I are Brexit exiles in Italy after dragging my dying Italian husband of 51 years to get help in his care. My husband had NHS cover but I was told there was no capacity in the system! I am British and had Italian citizenship bestowed on me on our marriage. We retired to the UK but after my husband died my pension is Italian. My elderly dog cannot fly and Brexit does not recognise pet passports .During Brexit rhetoric our son told us not to speak Italian in public as it could be dangerous. Britain has become a dangerous place for Europeans. The damage done by Brexit goes far beyond the economic affecting the lives of people like me who dared to fall in love and marry a European. Hopefully this new government will change the attitude towards Europe. I am now 76. I and my dog live alone in Italy far from friends and family and I know that the change will not happen in my life time but perhaps it will help families in the future. Remember your decisions are not just intellectual they can have devastating effects on ordinary people like me.
So you voted remain? Farage, who was the poster boy for leave married a German, is German himself, forces his children only to speak German and they have German passports. 🙄
I hope you are a fair and reasonable leader and not openly favour one section of the population at the detriment of the other. Rishi was a total disappointment.
a typical Cleanup government. Trying to get things done whilst also fixing the mess left behind, like when Wilson inherited a £800M Deficit from the Conservatives in 1964. Granted how they deal with the current situation shall be judged in the next 5 years, but how they began must be considered.
@@malav_patel intrviews, hmmm.... @@vickiep4217 That wasn’t my question, though. It was “What mandate did he get in the first place from N. I?’ Sinn Féin, a Republican Party is, for the first time, the largest party in the north. Starmer shouldn’t be governing part of Ireland.
@@liamjpbrady As things stand, he does. If/ when there is a united Ireland, the PM of the UK includes NI. That said, whilst it's obvious why SF wouldn't pledge allegiance to the Monarch, surely, given the state of all the nations, some sort of common ground could be found temporarily. If a person is voted in as a member of Westminster, they should be required to attend - especially if they get paid for it. Again, I understand why SF won't do this, but at some point, working together in the short term might help in the longer term? NI has been in a mess, mainly due to Brexit, for the last couple of years so it may be that the new Government can make some headway. Can't be any worse than the past 6 years .....🤞🏻
He was saying the whole thing needs a review and reform. We need more prison spaces and better run prisons to allow us to confine criminals currently on the streets. We also need to have an honest look at some rehabilitated prisoners who might do better for society making a transition back into the community, rather than sitting in prison costing billions (just for example, many IPP sentences and "joint enterprise" offenders). We also, most importantly, need to look at the causes of crime (e.g. poverty, coercion, isolation, mental health, etc) and focus on early intervention to support those people into more fulfilling and productive lives, to help them avoid going to prison in the first place. As a highly experienced lawyer and revered prosecutor, I think the PM will know better than most about some of the best ways forward in this area. I am excited to see him make these all-important changes, at last.
Basically the end of blood pressure ministers (ones who move the body like a roller coaster) 🎢 now we can just focus on our day to day whilst life improves, hopefully.
At 9:50 Starmer: My door is open and my government will work with them. I am a foreigner, but i know the British government is officially known as Her majesty's or His majesty's government depending on the sex of the monarch. Isn't Starmer's comment treasonous or am i wrong? From Nigeria 🇳🇬.
You have not been paying attention for the last 14 years? The country was doomed as soon as the Conservatives got in in 2010 and assaulted our infrastructure and services.
Stop the absolute nonsense of using a sign language person on your videos. This is highly irritating, extremely disturbing for a normal viewer. I have a number of other arguments, but I am trying to be brief. 😡😡
Which minister of this cabinet has qualification or experience in the field they are supposed to lead?🤔 Or are they getting study support as part of the minister contract? Another bunch of clowns are about to ruin the UK.
@@paleocookies2706 Really? David Lammy who thinks a man can grow a cervix & didn't know why Marie Antoinette was famous. What does he know about foreign affairs except for how to insult our closest allies?
And he's literally just employed actual experts to assist too. He's a lawyer himself and his wife works in the NHS, loads of actual experience amongst them all, unlike the Tory government we've just ousted
Are you for real? Tory cabinet was shuffled more times than a deck of cards on a Vegas craps table! One minute education minister and the next minister for defence!
