I have watched many of your videos, and have learned a lot, one thing I have learned is you go through about one Beer every 8-11min. 🍻🍺

I really liked the narrative format, thanks. By the way another comment mentioned fuel, Ive been using the “canned” premix fuel for a couple of yesrs now and have good luck with it. Shelf life is good and you don’t have to deal with the alcohol fuel mix.

Yes we recommend canned fuel for most occasional users. Its cheaper than labor!

I got home light 33cc from 2002 and it still good 👍 I really like my 45cc home light can saw from harbour freight new in 2003 I only use 101 octane from my motorcycle no ethanol free and not any problems. I only use only E3.12 spark plugs and Lucas two stroke 2.5 ounce or just Maxima oil Super-M 2cycle 2.5 ounce bottle.

I always use the entire kit when I clean, and rebuild the carbs on my saws. Maybe it's my OCD kicking in a bit. Of course I use genuine factory carb kits.

I try to use genuine kits but sometimes I'm forced to use other brands. Those off brand kits are not always successful.

@@TheGreasyShopRag I use CTS kits on other people's saws since they don't want to pay for products that last.

Is there any synthetic or modified dino fuel that can be stored in the tool for extended periods?
@TheGreasyShopRag
@TheGreasyShopRag 2 года назад
There sure is. Husqvarna sells canned fuel that lasts more than a year in the equipment. Actually my experience has been that if its in the tank that long it usually evaporates. When it does evaporate it doesn't "varnish" like gasoline. Just add more fuel and GO!

Now I got to go somewhere else to figure out how to rebuild the carburetor.

If your carb is so filthy that you feel the need to remove welch plugs then I recommend buying a replacement carb. The cost would be low for this style saw. If you have a kit and want to do it yourself then I'm sorry I don't have a video for you in the hundreds of videos I've posted. I don't do it, mostly because labor time ends up to be more than replacement carbs. If you are looking for tips on replacing the needle valve and setting the metering height, sorry I didn't need to do that on this repair. Thanks for tuning in and I'm sorry this video didn't get you what you were looking for.

That thing looks new, like the guy bought it, filled it with ethanol fuel, ran it to fill the carb up, the put it away. So you are saying don't give up, keep tweaking with it until you find the sweet spot, and add fresh lube. Got it.

Home owner chainsaws are like that. They need it for storm cleanup and when they are done it goes in the shed till the next tree limb falls. By then the gas is stale and I get involved. Sometimes they even upgrade to "avoid this problem in the future". Its all good.

What solution do you use in your ultrasonic for carb cleaning? Thanks!
@TheGreasyShopRag
@TheGreasyShopRag Год назад
The other side of the shop uses the same ultrasonic cleaner for their filthy disgusting 4 cycle engines and its always a mess. I put carbs in a mason jar with gasoline in it and have had good luck just setting that in the ultrasonic.

I can't get my homelite chainsaw to start. It has good spark, I sprayed starting fluid in the spark plug hole and the carb it won't even pop or try to start on the starter fluid. It's the same model in your video just the 14in. I'm not sure what to do at this point.
@TheGreasyShopRag

One possibility is that the flywheel key is sheared. You'd still have spark but it wouldn't be correctly timed, thus no pop.

@@TheGreasyShopRag The flywheel key looks fine. Honestly it sat in my garage for 2 years. I'd really stumped with this one.

@@scorpio4236 Did you check the spark arrestor screen on the muffler? If it's clogged with carbon, the engine won't breathe. Also, if you have good spark but no pop, you might not have compression. Is the pull cord easy to pull? On that note, don't use starter fluid too many times in a row on a 2 stroke since that's basically running it raw (no oil) and you might kill the compression. Use fuel/oil directly into the carb. Also, try putting fuel directly in the spark plug hole, screwing in the plug, and ripping it to see if that works. This is a puzzling case though!
@scorpio4236
@scorpio4236 Год назад
@@Rickyp0123 I might have to check the spark arrestor screen out. I put a new carb on it and still didn't want to start. I put the old carb back on and it started up and ran great, so I put it back on the bench and left to work, when I went to start it again, it was having the same issue. I'll try to mess with it again to see if I can get it running. I replaced all fuel lines, new screen, new carb, new spark plug. It has good compression as it was running for 3 minuets before I turned it off and left for work.
