Homemade BMW e46 PickUp TRUCK !? Part 2 (Make Partition, Reinforcement, Hood...) 

I waited impatiently for this part 2, and I'm not disappointed, who would have thought that this sedan would make such a good pick-up, real professional work, can't wait to see the next part

You need to put at least one of the two extractors, you removed @ minute 17:22, back into the cabin part of the car. Otherwise you're HVAC system will not be able to work. The air that is blown into the cabin must be able to exit it somewhere. Your cabin is now sealed, means the blower will be spinning, but the amount of heated/cooled air being pushed into the cabin is limited. Als, you most likely will have a big window fogging issue because passengers create humidity and if the used, humid air has no exit, it will become very humid very quickly. Air quality will be terrible, you might get headaches and become tired quickly. I'm an HVAC engineer and deal with this stuff daily ;-)

Makes you wonder why BMW never made a pickup like this one 😁😀

I have 3 questions and a few suggestions 1 are you adding a quarter glass on the sides 2 where you going to add your spare wheel and 3 are you leveling the tailgate lights to the other if yes? Maybe add a stripe of steel below 🤷‍♂️ But it’s your choice just adding a few words lol

I love it. Amazing I do have a few recommendations though, A flat sheet of metal etc on the floor frame rails to protect wiring, water proof water tight/ Maybe unbolt able to get at the battery. Also side filler pieces to clean up the holes in the inside where you cut out the old metal at. looks sweet though, maybe make the truck hinge open like some cars etc Honda civic hatchback. keep up the great work.

Looking at your welds from when you start to when you finish the car so far is a huge improvement keep improving on your technique and you will switch from a grinder to a welder in no time

Cutting the roof short was a Derp moment, but everything else looks cool. You could even upgrade the rear springs so that you could carry some weight back there after you build the inside of the bed & floor. Put an LSD in it too.

Shave the rear door handles and body wise itll look more complete. Only thing i I think I would've changed would be the shape of the rear window. I was thinking more along the lines of a more narrow rectangular one, like an mr2 or something similar. Some guys weld in actual sliders borrowed from a donor truck of your choice, but you could also do the same if you had a scrap chassis to cut the sheet metal/ frame and glass from. Would be cool to see a M5x swap with a budget turbo setup with something like a Holset and MS3/ all the supporting mods. Or you could stay N.A. on the cheap, and toss in an LS or M60/ M62 in there. Then you could always boost it later if you chose. Regardless of the powertrain, it NEEDS a hydro 'happy handle!!!' I like the OEM style 758's too, Nice pick. BMW has soooooo many sick OEM wheel choices. I had so many different ones when I owned my fleet of bimmers and the choices are endless... I had staggered 18" style 5's, m parallels, m contours, DS-1, DS-2, style 66, style 37, throwing stars (m systems,) etc. I think some CSL's if you choose to stay OEM would be sweet on your truck. If you're looking for a great track wheel, the APEX ARC-8, D-Force, Kosei K-1's, etc. are all good choices for affordable lightweight rims. Pair them with some R888 rubber, and some ARP studs/ nuts, and you've got a great track setup. I'll be watching this one to see your progress. I have been doing track prep/ building high performance street applications for a little over 25 years, so if you need any pointers on what works, and what doesn't feel free to ask away. I am also a suspension and aero nerd. LOL really into this stuff. Nice job thus far! 😎👍🤙
