Wood burned in a closed vessel without air access would yield more charcoal. Great briquette, congratulations

Put the wood in a container with lid. Heat it from outside for overnight. This will make charcoal without Ash and higher calorific value

Making 1.2kg charcoal from 6.3kg wood is not profitable....also you use electricity to crush them....so energy and cost added....i have tried this before..but its seems lengthy and energy wasting process....better i am using a wood stove driven by solar power fan
@oscarbesigye5792
@oscarbesigye5792 2 года назад
That's not the correct process. He shouldn't burn wood in open air. Need to limit oxygen and not burn wood,burn weste at least.

在制作的时候,你可以在中间挖个洞,这样可以增加受热面积。 同时,点燃的时候因为烟囱效应,你也会更快的点燃。

Greetings friend! Although the video doesn't explain it, you should have cooked the starch first and then added it to bind the charcoal! Perhaps adding some sawdust or wood chips can improve combustion.

Why did you do this?
@joseantoniogimenezcurto1949
If you wash the coal dust with a lot of water, you will dissolve many of the mineral salts it contains and that are not involved in its combustion. You will also obtain less ashes, and the washing water can also be a good fertilizer for plants, used in moderation.
@Dave_en
@Dave_en Год назад
Thats the exact way we used to make charcoal from wood back in those days. The ash was used to clean steel and auminium dishes and the remaining water went to the plants. It produces a thriving ground for fat earthworms.

That's too costly, in addition I don't think it's the best way of producing charcoal. Here in Africa, we put some grass on top and bury the firewood under the sand leaving a small hole to start the fire. The firewood will be burning beneath the ground and no fire is supposed to be seen, only smoke for almost a week. We only know when it's complete when the smoke stops and cracks of the sand on top are visible.

Do you take the trouble to tell me the procedure. What if I dig hole and put the woods there and burn it?
@CD-kg9by
@CD-kg9by Год назад
@@tapankumardas2990 Just search on RU-vid how to make plant charcoal in a hole. There should be plenty of videos. In short: You dig a hole that gets smaller on the bottom, light a fire in it, spread the burning wood so that you get a flat surface and then keep adding material on top as soon as the burning material gets white on the outside (white = the fire completely burns the material using oxygen). You want a glowing red embers at the bottom and a fire burning on top. The fire at the top will consume all the oxygen, so that the oxygen won't reach the glowing embers. If your hole is filled up layer by layer and the last layer of material starts to get white, you have to extinguish the whole fire by filling the whole hole with water. Then dry the wet charcoal. Done!

That's a good fuel make..I understand that burning wood and extinguishing it at the proper time with water is a good way to make charcoal..if you put wood in a airtight container with a small hole at the top and place a fire under it this will also produce charcoal but with the added cost of wood to heat the container..your way of open Burn and extinguishing with water is a great way..good work man👍

making charcoal this way is not efficient and make use of wood. using a kiln either underground, brick house or 55gallon barrel drum produce more charcoal per biomass burned. and for feedstock there are many agri waste for materials such as coconut husks, rice hulls, corn cobs etc
