Homemade faceting machine 6. Experimental handpiece 2. Project suitable for learning gemstone faceting . Handpiece quite good is made of a little scrap material ...
You are awesome sir!! You make it looks simple and doable. I only make cab but after watching your channel I wanna learn to do faceting too. I'll make one of these in the future. Thanks for the idea sir.
Stunning hand piece. I am a Toolmaker, but with early hand tremors. I don't want sympathy but can you share some basic sizes and materials used. I am an excellent Wood and Stone letter engraver. My last before retiring before I have to is to do faceting. I have 200 cts of Garnet, tasvsorite and rough green stones. I'm joining a Lapiday club to learn, but as a Toolmaker who enjoys using old techniques in doing one off unusual repairs...clients have not had success elsewhere...I am referred as a last resort...he thinks differently !!! They say..I think the way a craftsman thinks. I also do Laser Welding so I have fine hand motor skills...but a developing tremor in my left hand...not the right. Can you help me out as one craftsman to another. I wish to make a celebration of life, study, success overseas in Architecture for my God Daughter. A ring with stones that are important to here. I wish to create that before I can't blow my nose anymore. Dementia when it sets in will spare me from remembering I didn't complete the task. Regards Mike
@@bustergonad3975 Hi Mike I'm sorry to hear you have health problems, my health is even worse, I will not list my problems, I just want positive views of the future. That's why we chose a wonderful hobby - gems, a world of special beauty. Feel free to contact me on FB facebook.com/liburnidesign or at liburni.design@gmail.com I don’t have blueprints because I did everything from the material available in the workshop. Aluminum, wood, iron and the main dimensions are 18 x 11.5 cm. My experimental handpiece 1 is even easier to make and provides quite good features. I'll make some more super simple ones soon .... regards
Thanks for the compliments and for watching the video. I am not selling, it was made only as an experiment, like two other experimental handpieces. They served me well for learning to cut gems. Then it was easy for me to switch to the diamond tang professional tool ....
I use red wax. It is a wax that is also used for sealing doors or boxes. It is hard, brittle and has a higher temperature than other waxes. You can find it on ebay to buy under the name "dop wax". It comes in different colors that indicate the melting temperature, and they are all based on shellac. Thank you very much for following my channel. Best regards Predrag
Sorry but this was just an experimental model, but you can draw the index yourself as you wish in one of the programs "CorelDraw" or similar. You can also use different materials and sizes. One day I want to make a Thai handpiece that has no index at all. Thanks for watching and commenting.
