Great stuff as usual Andy. I made my own NGV some time back and didn't have the tools to cut curved lines in the inner and outer cylinders of the NGV. What I did was drill two holes per blade per cylinder, and made two teeth on the top and two on the bottom of the NGV blades. Then I inserted the blades in between two cylinders, centered the two cylinders, and then filled them with plaster of paris. Then I tacked those blades all around and broke off the plaster of paris to fully weld the blades. This method works except for the fact that the plaster of paris melts during the tacking process and makes a little mess lol. However, it ended up well enough.
Hi Shanaka, That works for shure😊 I did only cut a straight line for the trailing edge. The bent leading edge is only grinded to the shape. So only 8-9 mm will be welded on the inner cylinder. The outer cylinder will not be welded to the vanes, only "slipped over" the vanes with 1/10 mm gap for heat expansion. I hope next week the ngv will be finished, then you see the result😁 Andy
Hi Nick, I tried already ceramic spray, but it was a short story. The nozzle will resist the heat (Inconel), but I am working on more cooling the mix airflow before the nozzle. Hi Praendy! Did you use additional fire injectors or did you just flow more fuel through the normal ones? If you did, I want to ask, why did you choose to place the them before the turbine wheel and ngv, isn't the risk of melting/deforming one of those components too big?
Hi Zlatin, for the afterburner I use 12 additional fuel nozzles, only for igniting that fuel I use the nozzles in the engine. Thats the blue flames out of the turbine wheel. It is achieved by using much flow for a short timd. You are right, if I would use the engine fuel system, the ngv and turb whell will melt within seconds. Here a video from the a/b fuel nozzles. what electric motor did you use? do you have a link? also what method did you use to control the RPMs? im trying to build my own and i need some information.
I'm guessing I can see smoke coming from where the afterburner combustion chamber attaches, because it's not fully attached to the gas generator right? Is this intentional to serve as some sort of suck in area to use for the AB combustion and cooling?
Hi, in those tests, the afterburner is only attached with some screws. Usually there are 20 screws, but I took 10 or so, because of faster disassembly. Also some injectors are leaking from the brass ring and creating the white smoke, but after a few seconds they getting tight due to the heat. I try to get more cooling air to the nozzle by different afterburner flame tubes. At the moment there are too much holes in the flame tube. I have to get the cooling air before the nozzle. @@Praendy hey, thanks for replying. You should have a look at making some sort of suck in opening, just like the SR71 used to do. There's some great videos on the topic around on youtube. Another way could be by bleeding some compressor discharge air and discharging it through an additional air spray tube in your afterburner combustion chamber.
@@Praendy also, you seem to be getting a hot spot at the 5 o clock position on your nozzle segments. Are you using a flame holder near your augmentor spray ring? Also an exhaust stream straightener to straighten the airflow coming from your turbine is a must to get proper laminar flow, since I think your flow is too turbulent, causing the hot spot.

Hi, diese Turbine ist ein reines Modell, ohne Zweck. Es wiegt mit Nachbrenner schon gute 17 Kilo, da ich beim Bau überhaupt nicht auf das Gewicht geachtet habe. Mein neues Triebwerk soll allerdings flugfähig werden und befindet sich in der Endphase. Mußte mal auf meinem Kanal "Praendy" schauen. Das Teil heißt CPS 2022😉 Andy
wie hast du eigentlich die turbine selbst gebaut, was für maschinen hast du insgesamt gebraucht um so eine turbine konstruieren zu können, würde mich gerne interssieren!

Hi, die hat schon damals Piezo Elemente für beide Wuchtseiten gehabt. Die oberen Hälften der beiden Böcke sind mit dicken Federstahl mit den unteren verbunden. Dazwischen befindet sich das Piezoelement und "spürt" die Unwucht. Diese wird dan an den Anzeigen wiedergegeben. Andy

Hi, Die Wuchtmaschine ist von der Losenhausen AG und man findet darüber leider gar nichts im Netz. Ich habe sie für 750€ bei Kleinanzeigen gefunden und gekauft. Bin dafür zwar etwa 400 Km gefahren, aber das hat sich gelohnt. Ein Din A4 Ordner Beschreibung war dabei, noch mit Schreibmaschine geschrieben. Mehr Infos habe ich nicht. Mfg Andy
