Just an FYI, you can change up the icing in this recipe and make it any kind of donut bar you like. Let me know in the comments what your favorite is. Mine is chocolate.🍩
I remember so many years ago - maybe 60 - that a neighbor made maple bars and my friend and I would gravitate to her house for an afternoon snack. I remember the wonderful taste. My mom made the best homemade doughnuts, but ohh those maple bars. Thanks for the easy recipe.
What a sweet memory! I enjoyed reading your comment. My mom used to make doughnuts and cream puffs when I was growing up, but she never made maple bars. In fact, I don't think I ever had them until much later in life. They sure are fantastic.
These look wonderful! I haven’t had a good maple bar in forty years! My friend worked at Cooper’s Donuts and I would go visit at night while he was frying the donuts. The glaze they used on the maple bars was spread on with a knife and tasted great. I’m sure yours tastes wonderful. Many of the so-called maple bars in shops these days don’t have a lick of maple flavor.
WOW I love long John that’s what we called them and maple is the ultimate flavor amazing. Marcy thank you for sharing such treasures God Bless y’all ✝️🙏
We tap Maple trees every spring at State Park....also we have a cider mill for fall.... Michigan here. I love maple flavor and Windsor Canada is across the river so we have Tim Hortons and I love maple cream cookies.
Wow! That is so cool. I've only ever seen that on TV. You're fortunate to live there. My husband and I went to a farmer's market in Canada once and noticed jugs of maple syrup that were, literally, chained to the table so no one could run off with it. We figured it was liquid gold.
There's a donut store here in NM called Daylight Donuts. They make the best white cake Donuts. It's got chocolate frosting and coconut on top and they are my favorite 😍
I know! They were gi-normous! Lol Here's a link to my apple fritters: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7tThDcJqXJU.htmlsi=aBPEHxhF8CtB1dDo
Blessings to you also, Marcy 🙋 I make all my breads, but never have tried maple bars🤔😄 so I will try tomorrow!! Thanks do much, you are easy yo follow, have made alot of your reciepes. Take care, love Marsay from Az. 💓💌
Hi Marsay! That's good to hear. I find so much joy in baking bread. I want others to experience the same satisfaction, without feeling intimidated by it. Thanks for the encouragement.
Marcy you did awesome without Tony behind the camera! Those bars look delicious. I bet they are just as yummy as your apple fritters. I have everything I need to make them except the maple extract dang it! Will be heading to the store soon. Have a great weekend.
Thank you. I can't wait for Tony to get back, though. I was trying to conceal how stressed out I was! Lol Hope you enjoy some homemade maple bars soon.
I'm trying to figure out how you videoed that by yourself, like the side shots at the stove that pan down. Wow! I was going to ask if your friend was there helping you video, but then you said she wasn't there yet. These look amazing, too, but I can't make them because I'll eat them all.
My friend arrived in time to see me making the glaze, so I actually did have her get two shots for me at the very end. But everything else is the magic of editing. You can zoom in or out, and have it pan up, down, left, or right, simultaneously. It's pretty amazing how much you can do now. Still, it was a lot for me to try to do by myself, as I was having to reposition the camera constantly. Next time I do it, I'm definitely sticking to a simpler recipe!😅
@@marcyinspired1442 Gotcha. I'm learning photography and try to figure out how a photo was taken, but I know nothing about video. I do know it all takes a lot of time, though. :)
Hi Marcy, I know it's been awhile since you made this video but, I was just wondering if you could bake the maple bars in the oven instead of doing it in the oil. I so hope you get my message and can let me know. Good luck on your move and can't wait to see more of your videos. God bless
I noticed when she bit into it chunk of frosting flaked off. Does the recipe needs tweaked? Besides that the frosting itself looks like real donuts you would see on Maple donuts
