Oh my ! Loose the gloves when using the drill press ! I know from experience that they can be snagged by the drill bit and pull your hand into the drill.... it will pick you up and throw you accross the room ...IF your lucky, if your not lucky it may rip off your arm !!!! learn from my mistakes ! I had gloves on working outside with the drill press ( with snow on the ground) and drilling holes just like in your video.... the shavings snagged my gloves and pulled my hand into the drill bit ! and it didn't let go ! it picked me up all 205lbs and threw me up against the wall , at which time the glove came off ( luckilly ! ) or it would have ripped off my arm !!!! a close call but a lesson learned ! don't ware gloves when working !!!! their killers ! Bob........
@@DebbyNovrinal You've made a very strong and powerful machine Debby don't let it kill you ! and it can !!!! if you ever get tangled up with the chuck you can kiss it all good by ! My lathe is a Logan 922 we were born in the same year ! and it teaches me something new every day ! from drilling to cutting it is my pride and joy ! I almost built my own lathe instead of buying this one but I am 68 yrs old and didn't think I would ever finish it ! LOL.... You have a great start there, you need a tail stock desperately ! and a power feed ( that's why the lead screw I assume ! ) but you might consider an electronic leadscrew control so you can do single point threading a guy on youtube makes them.... keep your wits about you when working with any power tools, they like blood , once they get a taste they look for any opportunity to get more ! (grin) keep up the good work ! I subscribed ! and will follow your progress ! stay safe and ware Eye protection when using the lathe it's a bitch getting metal out of an eye ...I know ! Bob.......
