I tried this pie out with the family this week (I had to leave a section with no egg cause hubby doesn't like them) They loved it the plates were completely empty, licked clean and asking for seconds. I will definitely be making this again & the Aussie meat pie! Aussie girl, your uploads are "real" and not prissy like some on here, you are a bloody great true home cook! What a great recipe and the pie looked every part a Bushrange's dinner. There's a few variations on the Ned K pie. Add the diced bacon to the meat when cooking and add slices of tomato on top of the cheese before the pastry lid..and if you don't want to use short crust, a pot pie it can be. 🇦🇺🤤👍😀. Love your work.
I do this with store bought pies. Pull off the top, put a little spinach, bacon and an egg. Makes it so much better and better value. Becomes a quiche pie.

I love you Aussie girl. I have to make this. I’m a lazy ass I use rectangular dishes so the pastry fits without too much fussing I’m gonna do the shape of Aus on there for sure you little legend hadn’t thought of that ( well might have done years ago but a lot of dead braincells in there now). I also usually bake the base blind for 10 - 15 mins, just always have . Never sure if the bottom pastry won’t be a bit soggy. Is it?. Save me the trouble 😂.
yes it is a little because its puff pastry as long as filling is cold at room temp its lovely. i think you blind bake shortcrust pastry. have a wonderful day Moi xoxo 😁🐰💜💐🥂

some say they are different from what i can tell 1 cup is 250ml from either here or there. its possible our cup is a bit bigger so if anything use a slightly heaped cup full instead of level cup xo
