Great!! This is exactly what I was looking for! I started doing nopox, starting 2 days ago, day 2 i dosed the correct amount then fed the tank with frozen and reef roids Boom my 149 gallon tank and sump went cloudy😵💫😵💫 any idea if its tring to battle the nutrients i fed the reef?? Please help and awesome video. Ps i did a 10 gallon change right after work and letting it run over night.
The cloudy water is a bacteria bloom and is not uncommon when starting carbon dosing. A UV sterilizer will clean it up in 24 hours. I would start with 1 ml per ten gallons of water, so about 14 ml in your case. Test you NO3 often and adjust up or down to get what you want. It will take several weeks to settle in.
I was thinking about your tank and how you don't routinely change mechanical media and don't use a skimmer and where are all your nutrients going. Your tank should be a big algae mess, but it's not, are all of those corals consuming the nutrients? Thanks.
@@lkapitan8232 My theory is: the Coral, tangs, refugium and a diverse eco system, there’s a ton of teeny tiny critters in there. There are a couple of areas that might qualify as a plenum, my reefbowl qualifies as one - no tangs or algae in there either other than the invasive Caulerpa taxifolia.
