I absolutely love rhubarb. I have two plants in my garden, but they grow all spring summer and fall. I wonder why your rhubarb growing season is so short. Is it because of the short summers or is it the variety of rhubarb you grow? Anyway, I love your rhubarb recipes. I have been making rhubarb drinks, but never thought to add the star anise, cinnamon, vanilla and lemon. I'm cooking some rhubarb right now with these ingredients. So looking forward to drinking it! You should be able to start picking your rhubarb from May to the end of the summer, picking the bulk between May and June and not so much from July to the end of the season to allow your plants to recover and prepare itself for the long winter.
Important note to anyone: dont use any aluminium kitchen tools.it will have a negative chemical reaction to the acid in the rhubarb! Stainless steel and wooden tools think you!
