Woiller- Relic Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, and South America are called Latin America because they all speak Latin-based languages. They include Spanish, Portuguese, and French, but they aren’t the only Latin languages.

They are disrespectful and too comfy with people, you can talk with a person you have never seen and they will talk to you way too informally. I know this does not sounds too bad, but it bothers me a little. They are also loud, unpunctual and take things very lightly. (Sorry for the awkward english and if I'm being too salty)

SOOOO HAPPY TO SEE GUATEMALAN FOOD! their videos almost never touch on Food from there. It’s okay, there’s so many countries, everyone has their opinion & if you really think about. There’s only so much culture being TRULY represented through videos. Most of the people who talk about their culture are kids born in the states, they don’t have much real understanding of it. I grew up in Guatemala and I will tell you EVERYONE had their own version of Paches, but I will clarify it for you folks. Paches consist of masa that’s made with potatoes. And tamales are with masa de maíz. Both are very different from one another, and there’s parts of Guatemala where Paches aren’t made hence why “Real” Guatemalan people don’t know. It may be a small country but there’s a lot of different cultures in itself. Fun fact Guatemala has over 23 official dialects 😉 not everyone is the same

I've never made paches, but for 15 years i participated in the annual tamales de arroz making, the lard, the raisins, the ones with chocolate. We also have chuchitos, which are bit a like the mexican tamales from the begining but a bit chubbier. Also cambrayes, which are sweet fuscia tinted chuchitos... Lovely video

The Puerto Rican Pastel is not made out of yuca, is mainly of plantain and green bananas. They are complemented with other root vegetables like yuca, malanga, ñame, or other root vegetables that you find in Puerto Rico. I am a Puerto Rican from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico and I have seen and helped in the process many times.
@jonathanjimenez5793

Jean Torres agreed, the masa we make is more wet as well. we also make ones that are baked that are made from yuca and calabaza.
@hueleb1cho
@hueleb1cho 5 лет назад
i’m also puerto rican, but i disagree. most pasteles are made exclusively from platano, but my family likes to make them from platano, yuca/yautia, or a combo of them both. it makes a great flavor and texture no matter what you get!
@lepidoptery
@lepidoptery 5 лет назад
Well that's why he called them pasteles de yuca, isn't it. To differentiate them from some default pastel.
@yarivalentin7530
@yarivalentin7530 5 лет назад
My guess is that because they wanted to make 4 different types of “tamales” he decided to showcase the ones made out of yuca. I do agree that most pasteles are made of green banana and a complimentary root vegetable. I’m concerned about the bitterness factor when it comes to yuca, I always add 1 potato to my yuca masa so that it keeps the bitterness at bay. Regardless I’m glad we were represented in this video.

I would just like to add that in Mexico, there are other types of tamales besides those made with corn husks, there are also those made with green corn leaves, and those made with banana leaves. Veracruz, Yucatan, Chiapas, and Oaxaca make their tamales with Banana Leaves instead of corn husks. The Banana leaves adds a flavor to the tamal that makes it taste so much better than the corn husks. The green corn leave tamales (corundas for example) also add a flavor that makes it taste more delicious.

I’m so sorry but I’m tiered of seeing the same 4 countries being displayed as ALL of Latin America. Especially in something like TAMALES. I clicked on this joint sicedd to see all these bomb ass tamales and I get served this. Really. Step your game upppp Edit: In the past couple of days I’ve gotten the most ignorant comments. My comment wasn’t even offensive or aggressive, it was literally just a “Hey maybe you guys should try adding more countries to your videos” yet everyone wants to be extremely offended by it

These are people in BF LA - they probably don't have somebody from every Latin American country that also feels comfortable cooking and being in a video. They're just working with what they have.
@ALLxISxGONE

Well, then it's a good thing the title of the video says "Around Latin America" and not "From All of Latin America" cause you would be even more disappointed at them not presenting more.

They might not have the budget to find and get people from every country. They already have the people in this video in-house
@fabianamedranda5298
@fabianamedranda5298 5 лет назад
1. They have 10 million followers, I think the budget is pretty wide. 2. They have multiple videos where they go out and find specific food trucks and specific restaurants showing tribute to a specific food/ country so I think they can also take the time to go out to the public and recruit 3. Yeah, too bad you didn’t read that I said I’m plainly tired of them saying “Latin America” and then present the same four countries. Maybe you should try seeing all the other videos presented with THE SAME FOUR COUNTRIES and then @ me

Laura Ortiz my family doesn’t make them we typically get them from neighbors or people we know that make them for sell so everyone makes them a bit differently with yuca or plátano or combined so I think I’ve tried most of them they all taste good and the garbanzos add more texture since you know they tend to be very soft.

I'll love to try the yuca tamales from Puerto Rico. I'm from Nicaragua and we had Nacatamales wich are like the paches from Guatemala in size but really different, ours had some veggies in the filling. But the base it's corn masa with so many flavors and spices and pork or chicken filling also spicy and it's your Sunday morning breakfast with a nice cup of fresh brew coffee.

I've watched countless videos of food and not until this one did i realize : Food have their own way to get into every cultural. It comes in all kind of sharps and sizes. The ingredients are different of course . But when you combine and then compare it together. Its kinda the same or it just change itself to fit in with the country. How amazing that is 🤤🤤
