So glad I found your channel! Been binging everything! I've always wanted to start a skincare brand but didn't have a clue where to start until your channel came along! Honestly thank you for your honest information!
You are *SLAYING* it with these amazing videos girl ❤. Everything; From the gorgeous aesthetic, editing, fabulous style and ease in which every detail is explained so perfectly. We don't deserve you. And this jelly mask?? *swoon* 🙌
If you don't like the feels of xanathan gum we can use another like carbopol polymer it can do the same job without any white color or residue it usually used to make aloe vera gel
I’ve never tried carbopol polymer. I’ll check it out. but I have sodium carbomer and sepimax zen. I just picked xanthan gum for this recipe since it keeps the cost value down and I know a lot of people have it on hand 😊
Hi thanks for sharing! Just a pointer that if you dissolve all the extracts into the water And preservatives then add thickener at last stage, they would all be uniform without ingredients being separated like that.
What ingredients are separated? You want to add the xanthan gum in the glycerin first to help eliminate fish eyes. Xanthan gum likes to clump up when mixed with water so it’s best to hydrate it in glycerin first.
TaraLee it looks clumpy a bit. Normally we dissolve all the ingredients first then add thickener, or completely dissolve the thickener to a consistency to blend in other ingredients. Yours since it’s pretty thick it’s better to blend in all ingredients first and add a thickener last. It’s like mixing ingredients to jelly, it’s not all blended it looks like.
Looks really good. Have you ever thought of using a Ultrasonic Cleaner which will help encapsulate the solution it may get rid of the brownish tint. I know people who make a liposomal formulation of Vit C which usually incorporates Vit E, the ultrasonic device helps encapsulate the two ingredients together and makes for a smooth product.
Hi Tara, thank you for this beautiful video. Your products are all about natural, sustainable, cruel free and it's amazing, it shows you care about human wellbeing and mother nature around us. I'm just wondering if you can make video about how to make toothpaste. This came to my concern when I looked at the ingredients on my current toothpaste and how it packaged. We use toothpaste at least twice a day, a typical couple would buy it once a month - which is more often than any other cosmetics. My question is, can we make it at home, or is there any environment friendly and healthier products? I have researched over youtube about how to homemake a toothpaste, it turns out they are made mostly by coconut oil and baking soda which I think not very usual to put in your mouth, not mention it doesn't have any cleansing or foaming matters. So what do you think as a cosmetic maker? Can you give me some advice?
I've tried this and constistency is perfect, the only thing i want to ask about is smell. Mine smells pretty bad and i don't know why. I used 30g of rose water (because i don't have vanilla water right now) and D-patnhenol (75%), and as a perservative i used cosgard. I also put only two extracts and green tea is the only one matching with yours. Did I do something wrong? I am happy with consistency but not with smell.
This face mask looks luxurious. Thanks for sharing. Have you tried Hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC)? I have no clue, but I've seen somewhere that it's a very good gelling product. Perhaps, it could be used instead of xanthan gum.
Hi! Loved your video! I made this a couple weeks ago with my own formulation with regular xanthan gum, but it turned out all mushy and slimy (a MUCH different consistency from yours. What do you think went wrong? I used distilled water, charcoal, aloe vera liquid, rose hydrosol, etc. Thank you!
what type of xanthan gum did you use? the grade of xanthan gum really makes a huge difference. I really think it only works well with xanthan gum soft or xanthan gum clear. it will come out much nicer using xanthan gum soft. I actually did a video over on patreon comparing 3 different xanthan gums. They really do all have different consistencies and feel from one another.
Hi tara Your Chanel is totally amazing I have learnt a lot and it has helped me with my skincare. I made the jelly face mask and I used all ingredients I used German plus as preservatives too but after day 2 it just started having moss and I am really confused. I did another batch and still the same thing Help. Thank you
I’m loving every video you have 💕💕 it really inspires me to start my own! 💕 may I ask what could be the substitute of regu scence if we dont have it here? Thank you!
Thank you for sharing. I love rose and this can be a great addition to my skin care routine. Could I use dl- Panthenol 100 for this recipe instead of dl-panthenol? Is there a difference?
I love your formulations and the fact that you share, not only the formulations but, your knowledge! Now a question, do you think, there's a way to make a peel of mask with xantan gum? 🤔 As I told you in an earlier comment, I'm a huge fan of yours from Ecuador 🇪🇨🤗 Thanks for sharing knowledge!
Hi Tara, thank u so muchh for making this video! This is INSANE. I remake this basic recipe but i change with my formula. I'm using blue spiriluna, did you hear that before? And BAMM.. I love everything about this Formula. 💥
Hi Tara, Thank you so much for empowering us with your knowledge. I want to make some products for myself and my friends. They are concern about micro / bacteria. How do you test for this at home? Do you have a kit? Or maybe this can be an entire video idea. For those who want to test at home and test for resell? thank you for these videos
I love watching your videos. I am going for products for my skin which is combination and over 35 there are a question rising and anti-aging. I also am still a little bit acne prone in the driveline and chin and occasionally on the cheeks and I also have a moderate amount of melasma discoloration. I don’t have the money to really invest in expensive products that are really good quality and I’m wondering if you have any recipes in mind that I could measure and make at home. I already use some things I make it home for my hair and skin that they are fairly simple Like ACV hair rinse and rice water for my skin and hair. I would like to find some recipes for making sheet masks and moisturizers, serums And essence as well as eye creams.
I want to formulate a jelly mask with hibiscus powder distilled water, glycerin can’t handle gum soft and some other things, which preservative would you recommend other than liquid germall plus, would euxyl pe 9010 or preservative eco be ok for this jelly mask?
Hey, I see a lot of people pouring there glycerin and xanthan gum mix into the water phase instead of pouring water phase into the xanthan and glycerin. Is there any difference?
@@estheronyegbula7662 you need to learn how to make soap :) it's easy try soap queen or soaping 101 on you tube then you'll understand what I'm talking about
I was going to try this recipe with the rose water from where you bought it but there is no description for the product. Do you know the shelf life? And should I store it in the fridge?
no because there is no emulsifier to blend the oil and water together. You could use sepimax zen as your gelling ingredient instead of xanthan gum since sepimax zen can emulsify oil and water
Is liquid germall plus a natural preservative? I remember in your preservative video you mentioned another preservative that is all natural but you have to use it at 2% can that be used in this recipe?
Sorry I haven’t replied to past comments. I get far to many comments and messages between all my platforms to be able to reply to them all unfortunately. I really wish I could. I do hang out in the comment section shortly after posting a new video though and whenever I get some random free time 😁
