Yep. It is a sad truth. Kitchen aid on their newer machines has gone cheap on some of the parts. And most people use the machine for bread dough. But they have replaced some of their metal parts with plastic. And on the newer machines it says not to knead bread for more than two minutes. It is very very sad to see such an iconic product always known for being very high quality going downhill like this. Heck people used to hand their kitchen aid mixers down. Our family actually had one that last I heard is still around through three generations. I gave my old one to my niece. And really wish I had not done it I wanted a different color. So. I am going to have to look at something different now
Your recipe looks great. I have 2 Kitchen Aid mixers and have never used them for kneading yeast dough. I sure am not doing it by hand. I have several bread machines and I use the dough cycles. So easy and I can make many batches. I am 89 years old. Grandma Sue in Central Indiana
My mom told me about how those mixers blow up in the motors. She told me to get one that has a big motor in it. And let me tell you this, they COST SO MUCH MORE!!! But they are worth the money! Because by the time you buy 2 of the other one's, you could buy the bigger motor one. I spent the money on mine and worth it. I hope you have a great dinner with your family tonight ❤ Cheri from Massachusetts
Y E S!!! Texas Yeast Rolls!!!! We make um different in Texas. Ye Hah, I have been looking so long for the Texas Yeast Roll recipe. I grew up with my Mama making these. She has now passed and I never got the recipe. Thank you so much for giving me back a part of my childhood. I'm an old grandma now, just getting back into baking.
Dear Friend, these rolls are absolutely fabulous!! I’ll have to make some only cut th recipe in half, or more. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe 💕🙏🙏
Your rolls look delicious I can almost smell them! I will be making them soon! I've made yeast rolls many times by hand before I got my Kitchen Aid mixer. I always knead my rolls on the #2 setting. My mama taught me how to make yeast rolls when I was in high school...many moons ago 😊
Just found you on you tube have made some of your recipes delicious my family loved it love listening to you what a precious lady my Mommas family from KY two of my bonus grand babies are from Austin TX love TX I'm from Indiana ❤ keep on keeping on God Bless you and keep you and give you peace don't listen to the haters I'm a talker too 😂 love ya girl
Talli Faye you are amazing to me. You handled that potential disaster like a pro! I love fresh baked bread & rolls. Nothing beats them, & looked outstanding! Love when I learn something new from you. I was ticked about this mixer failure; you're not the only one on YT to experience this. One lady switched to another brand bc of this. No excuse for these failures given the reputation they've built over decades through Hobart. Quick troubleshooting points to either shorted /melted power cord inside motor housing or brushes on motor worn down. Oil leaks also frequently occur. Apparently these appliances are supposed to be serviced every 2 to 3 yrs. If I find that lady & which brand she switched to, I'll contact you. Thank you for your time, effort, & experience sharing this information & recipes. God bless.
Thanks Sallie… I’m definitely on the hunt for a different brand… It’s too bad because the old one I had of that brand was wonderful… I lost it when my house burned down in 1999… I’ve had a number of these since and they just don’t last…
House burned 😢that had to be devastating. Only our good good Lord Jesus can get us above & beyond. If you haven’t bought a new mixer you might want to purchase the Bosch Mixer-very nice. As well as Ankarsrim, which is the best of the best however, very expensive. Always enjoy your channel 🍞
It looks like you may have the classic mixer. I had to upgrade to a larger mixer/motor because the bowl of my classic was too small and would make the dough climb the hook and it was wearing out my motor when making bread. The Classic Tilt Head motor just isn't strong enough to knead for any length of time especially once the dough is in a ball. You probably need the 5.5 quart or the 7.5 quart Bowl Lift with the 11 speed motor. I have the 5.5 quart but wish I had gone ahead and bought the 7.5. I can knead dough without my motor getting too hot. They are on sale for $100 off on the Kitchenaid site. I bought mine at BestBuy on an after Christmas sale. I definitely would not buy anymore of the Classic series unless you are just mixing cake batter, mashing potatoes, or the like.
I just made these and they were absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much Talli Faye for sharing your recipe and for your encouragement. 🥰. I got scared when my dough didn’t look exactly like yours but I kneaded it by hand with a little extra flour and then the dough looked just like yours and they turned out perfectly! Thank you so so much!
Talli Faye, my apologies for the delayed response, but it took me a bit to find the video. She switched to the Kenmore Elite Ovation 5-Quart Tilt Head Stand Mixer bought through Walmart online for $430. Mfr is Kookatron. Her channel is Beautiful TooCreationsWithDonna, the video is about a yr old, & the title of that particular video is: Kenmore Elite Ovation 5-Quart Tilt Head Stand Mixer Review. Now as you all know, Kenmore was a former Sears line, which in its day, was highly regarded; since the glory days of Sears, I couldn't begin to tell you how to get it serviced or the maintenance issues w/it. She has contact info on the channel, so I, personally, would look into calling her & checking out her opinion since she posted that video. Keep us posted on your choices. Love ya, God bless. "And now, back to cooking w/Talli Faye."
Miss Talli Faye, okay now I'm not scared but your machine breaking down scared me! I would not want that. Yikes. They turned out great cause you're a good cook. I'll think about trying this one. I'm not scared :) Karla in Cali. lol.
@@inthekitchenwithtallifaye4724 I know have burnt up 2 so far . Just found your channel today and love it. Im from SC near the Myrtle Beach area. We love Texas- went last year and stayed 2 weeks. People in Texas remind us alot of our hometown.
Talle when you make dough in these kitchen Aid machines, you are not going to go past 2 or it will burn up the machine. Your machine may also need to be maintained by cleaning and putting food grade grease on the gears. There are utube videos showing you how to do this .
Question Do you use all purpose flour or self raising flour. appreciate your kindness and encouragement l get scared. So when you say don't get scared.i sure do smile.you are such a good teacher.thank you from my❤
TalliFaye, my Mom use to make yeast rolls. Your brought back really good memories of her. I've always wanted to try making them but have been leary they wouldn't rise. I'm sorry about your mixer. Hope you can get it fixed. Have a blessed day 🌈💚🙏💚🌈
I love yeast rolls. Have you ever made or tried angel biscuits? They are the best of both worlds its like if a biscuit and a yeast roll had a baby.. love your channel im a big fan. God bless ✝️🇺🇸
Hi TallieFaye! My son is wanting to purchase a Kitchen aid mixer for my Bday, and i’m not sure what size I need. A 6qt or 7 or 8qt. What do You recommend??? I have Always just used my hands to make bread 🥖👩🍳🤔
Well, I haven’t made up my mind about what I wanna get now😵💫… I don’t know if the motors are any bigger on the next sizes up but the two that have stripped gears were 6 qt so I’m still looking… I still love the kitchen aid and I’m thinking I personally need a commercial built counter top for my kitchen…
@@inthekitchenwithtallifaye4724 Well he brought a big one (a different brand) ,,, Ut was an 7 or 7 qt. , and the gear was stripped after just using it for just 5 seconds. I tried several times to get it to work and it just stopped each time after a few seconds.
@@luciabriseno4065 oh no!!😳… That’s terrible!… That’s why I’m so frustrated about choosing one!… I’m gonna look into the Kitchen Aid Pro as was suggested to me…
I've been so frustrated with the low quality of Kitchenaid stand mixers in the last many years...I bought a new one 5 years ago that started smoking a making a grinding noise in the gears the first 10 seconds out of the box....its disappointing because the design is good and I like the heavy weight of the casting that prevents it from rocking off the counter with heavy dough's but they started using inferior parts internally....I have 2 KitchenAid mixers from the 1950's that are still going strong but these new ones are pitiful.
I’ve done a deviled egg video back awhile ago… I’ll do another one here shortly because our chickens are laying like crazy and I’ve been making a bunch here lately 😂😂
