What is the difference between this and an ST01? If all I'm doing is controlling outside lights from dusk to dawn is this overkill or will the ST01 work fine?

Hello, more jello please! Thank you again for your question. There are many differences between the two timer switches. But the main differences are: The ST01 runs off of a CR2 lithium battery, and is controlled and programmed where it's installed. The STW700W is a SMART timer, can be programmed and controlled remotely; it has a battery backup, and works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Both will work for what you're wanting to use it for. I use both in my home. But I am more fond of the STW700W because I travel quite a bit, and I love the fact I can make changes from anywhere, or I let Alexa control it for me. I hope this helps you decide.
