Not the best episode of the good old days, but remember part of the “joke” was making fun of the idea of a failing cartoon getting desperate and bringing a new character to save it. Also, 1000x funnier than anything the show has put out in the last 20 years.

It's like another Itchy and Scratchy episode in one Simpsons episode where I&S stopped and said "kids, say no to drugs". It was also an I&S episode that viewers didn't care for

Homer gave his Poochie voice an "Angry" quality that Otto couldn't duplicate. Otto's voice isn't really good at conveying anger.
