Thank you for sharing where you get your books! I love getting suggestions from you but getting the source is so helpful. Also, we also bought the fright book at FPEA. It’s been a fun read!
This book about high school is great. I'd like to figure all that out as well. My son will be in 9th next fall. We plan on having him take his GED when he is able but I want to make sure I'm following the law as well.
Hello! I’m wondering when you use the picture study portfolios that you show and talk about are you following a curriculum and implementing other books and content or is everything you cover included in the portfolio?
The Picture study portfolios are an all in one thing. They tell you how to do a picture study with the kids, give a bio of the artist, (additional resources are listed) and each painting has info and a summary as well. They are VERY well done! We have used them for 5 years now and have greatly enriched our homeschool and lives in general. Their composer studies are done very similarly and are excellent as well!
My one advice, don't try to keep high school to 'gentle' because college isn't. You want to truly make sure they are prepared,. have strong study skills, excellent self discipline, executive functioning skills, fantastic writing skills and personable communication skills.
If you look at her previous curriculum picks, you can see that she takes academic learning seriously. The Charlotte Mason approach doesn’t throw out the rigor, it just structures learning in a different way.😊❤️
College isn’t the goal for everybody. Also if a student is motivated that is all they need in college. I did horrible in high school, but had a very high GPA at the end of my college career.
