I understand why it's a paid membership. I just can't join now. I hope you don't stop putting out homeschool videos on your channel. It would be a shame to lose you as a resource. ❤ wish you all the success in your group, sounds amazing.
This is my first year homeschooling and even though you would think it is the norm and acceptable this year, I am shocked at how much resistance I've received from family and friends. I also taught adults a new computer software that completely changed how they did their job, successfully. And my closest family still doubts I will be able to teach my child. Its infuriating! I've taught him to talk, walk, eat, use the bathroom, and so much more outside of school. We already live a learning lifestyle and now I'm a SAHM so this just feels natural and organic. It just baffles me. So thank you ladies for providing much needed community and support for this mama!💕
I am a little disappointed that I do not have kids to homeschool - I will be missing some quality Angela content! I hope there are still various homeschool videos, because I definitely enjoy the content even though it is not applicable to my life yet :)
I first found your channel last year around this time when you did a homeschooling collab with Natalie Bennet and I've been following you ever since. I've been a huge fan of both Dawn and Lisa for quite a few years, too, so to see you all collaborating on this together is such a delight. I don't have kids of my own, but I'm a nanny and I never would've thought this time last year watching your homeschooling videos that I'd need that information for my job, and now here we are. Thank you for taking the time to make this!
I have been subscribed to Dawn’s channel for a couple of years and have to check out Lisa’s now. Having a community with homeschooling moms through RU-vid has truly helped me. Thanks for all your content! God bless!
I have two kiddos (2 and 4) and we will start homeschooling next year. I'm nervous and yet excited at the same time. It all feels a little overwhelming, but watching your channel has given me the confidence to know that I CAN do this! Thank you😁
I've only come across this channel in the last 6 months and just in awe of everything you do for those beautiful children and others. I only wish we were in the position to be doing the same. So inspirational 💞
I think I may cancel Amazon prime so I can join! My daughter is only 4 but we’ve been doing “school” with her for a while now. She was just ready! She’s already reading! Pretty sure I cried when she read her first word and that’s something I am so so grateful to have been there to see.
This homeschooling, foster/adopt, minimalist, fermented food loving mom of 6 is SO excited the 3 of you are joining together! You 3 are my go to on RU-vid for encouragement, ideas and motivation!!! Can’t wait to join!
I am so excited about this! I have been rewatching all of your homeschool videos, and now this community will be such a great resource and source of encouragement on this new journey for us. Thank you for always seeking the chance to lift up and help others!
I cant afford to enroll right now, but I can’t wait to share this with all the mommas I know who are considering homeschool this year and are overwhelmed.
Congrats to you all, we love in Wilson NC. The schools will be doing distance learning again for awhile, she really likes being at home, less stress on her. God Bless to you all home schooling this year.🤗
I respect homeschooling moms since it is hard work!! But it kind of hit me when you said being a mom is all it takes to teach. I spent 7 years studying about kid's development so I could give the best to mu students. Yeah for sure you know your child better than anyone but you also need to prepare yourself (like I'm sure many do). Sorry it just hit my pride. Love your content :)
Caro- it makes me sad that there tends to be this animosity between teachers and HS moms. Many moms are being thrust into schooling at home this year and feel terrified to fail their kids. I do believe that most moms are equipped to facilitate their kids’ education. There are crappy moms and great one, just like their are crappy teachers and their are great ones. I’ve always had the utmost respect for teachers and praise them often here. Two of my best friends are former teachers and we all have the utmost respect for each other and what we can each offer our kids. 😊
This is good for us, This weekend I felt attacked by the family that I should seriously consider public. That we're lucky covid is a thing because homeschooling is a better choice for safety. I felt so disappointed, thought we had support. Nonetheless my children, my responsibility.
Yes I love this! A community of home schoolers with two mums that I already totally enjoy to watch (you and Dawn) and looking forward to meet Lisa! Yay! I am three years starting fourth year of home schooling so I am keen to learn and share! 💛💛💛
Yes I am just starting with my 6 and 5 year old! I really needed this group; the world of homeschooling can be so intimidating. I love you and Lisa so much! And I look forward to watching some of Dawns content.
This group is going to be such a blessing to so many mamas out there! You almost have me wishing my 10mo old was enough to start school so I could join the group!
I'm 4 minutes in and already signed up!! I have been wanting to homeschool and my husband was been resistant. Then Covid-19 happened! His heart and mind are opened up for trying it! I have been working towards growing a business and my husband has been thrown into 60-70hrs the last year and half making it harder than ever to squeeze work hours in. Surrounding myself with positivity and excitement is exactly what I need to power through.
I am only in my first year of homeschooling. My husband and I talked about homeschooling when we were pregnant 6 years ago with our oldest. I guess our families didn’t think we were serious about it. We got a lot of pushback and still do from one side of the family. It’s been years in the making and I have exactly what I need to be successful and help my kids be successful. I always get the response that I’m holding them back and not allowing them to make friends. My kids make friends right outside if they want to and if we go to the park my oldest always says how many friends he made. There are other ways to socialize that don’t involve going to school. Schooling in my opinion is not about socialization. It is for learning and that’s where people are clearly confused. You go to school to learn and when you choose to do homeschooling you are creating a learning specific environment that allows them to learn better because they are not focused on seeing their friends. 🤷🏻♀️
Loved this!! Please have more Q & A’s like this is the future! Obviously following you, as well as The Minimal Mom! So excited to subscribe to Lisa’s channel too! Awesome job ladies! ❤️
I would’ve loved to join the group and start homeschooling my 8 year old this year but unfortunately we’re located in Germany at the moment where homeschooling is completely forbidden. It’s such a shame, especially in these difficult times. And yet they won’t allow it. For the last 6 months we got a weekly E-Mail from their teacher, which included part of their homework, but the Maths teacher was always late or unable to upload stuff. It was really frustrating and part of the tasks were really outdated... I really envy anyone who’s able to homeschool their kids.
I was homeschooled and my husband was public schooled. I. Terms of socialization I am way more social then my husband is. He is not an introvert but does struggle with communicating and watching social ques.
My husband is so against homeschooling because he wants our son to be social and not be shy/introverted... we were both in public school and I’m literally exactly what he’s afraid of 🙄🤦🏼♀️
That is what bugs me. The "experts" are saying the kids need to go back to school during this pandemic to get "Socialization" but they can do that at home. Granted due to the pandemic it is difficult. But even if they went to school they would not be allowed on the playground or even to sit near each other. So how much socialization can they get doing that?
I really want to homeschool or do a mix depending on where we are at in life at the moment when we do have kids. My husband is totally against it, but with the state of public schools and the price of private i can't seem to justify NOT homeschooling in some capacity. Really hoping i can find a middle ground with him eventually.
I understand why it's a paid membership... Honestly, it's not that expensive. Thanks for all the free content and all the best in this new venture ladies. ❤️❤️❤️
With our private school, we were supposed to do in person but the governor is probably announcing we are distant learning. So I am not sure if the community group is for me or not. Enjoyed the video
I was just watching the Millers visiting with Phil and Alex. They are thinking of moving near Phil and Alex. It would be so cool if your family moved there too, so you’d all be together!! 🥰😂😊
I love your channel, & I value your homeschooling advice & recommendations. I was so excited about a fb group, but I was so sad that you are charging. I am apart of many helpful groups that are free. Times are tough, especially for new homeschoolers. 😢
I understand, however all the content I produce (4-6 videos per week) are FREE to watch and consume. It's very common for membership groups to charge to cover all the admin costs and to ensure that the folks pouring their time into creating daily videos and more are being compensated for that time. Nothing will change here as far the videos I create and share, so if a paid group doesn't work for you, then there is still lots of content for free here each week :)
I'm so excited for all of you.. It will be awesome!!! I'm jealous I can't join because my kids are full grown. I was a teacher though and loved it...not the way it's done now. I loved being creative and lra6by doing. God Bless you all!!!
Sad it's a Facebook group. But I'm looking into it anyway, I love you ladies, so it's making me second guess my lack of love for Facebook just so I can join.
Great idea!!Bummer I don't have a fb though, and hubby is layed off.Im not a new homeschooler but would still love to check it out.Good luck ladies, all three are great youtubers!!
This is exciting and im so excited for everyone to join. If I had kids I would join but sadly I'm only 18 and don't have any kids but excited for you all x
I found it so interesting that I watch all three of these moms on youtube separately. And here they are together. So cool! I wish you all the best. I am doing online virtual learning with my two high schoolers...so not exactly homeschooling but sort of. I wonder if there are any groups for me? I taught high school for years. Maybe I should start my own group? Anyways, I love all of you and would highly recommend anyone to join if you are homeschooling...these ladies have a lot to offer!!! God Bless!!!
You taught high school ! ? How neat! I always wanted to be a teacher growing up but life threw me some curve balls. I just turned 30 & I’m very seriously thinking of still going for it! Also, due to current circumstances I’ve been “homeschooling” my high school aged son and I am anticipating the possibility of that again this year. Any advice?! He’s 16 & it’s sooooooo so hard to keep him on task, on track, on time!! Lol! Thanks! - Kelly
I love this! All three of you ladies are an inspiration to me. I have a three year old who I have started to 'part-time' homeschool as she is super keen to learn. I probably won't sign up until she turns four and then I'll be ready to start a proper schedule with her day to day. I'm very excited to have this resource. Just inquiring, does it matter that I am in Australia or does this only cater American homeschoolers?
We put ALOT of thought into the best place to host this group. Fortunately and unfortunately, Facebook offers the most robust platform for this type of group, with Facebook Lives, the ability to create announcements, units, share videos and more!
Off topic, sorry, but...oh my golly, you just look more and more beautiful every video! Please could you do a video on your latest make-up look - a get ready with me if you will?
Okay so I never ever join stuff like this but this honestly looks awesome... And being a 7 like you Angie, I am thinking I have a lot to learn from you in homeschooling 😜
Not sure where to post questions regarding the membership. I love Angela and Dawn (I’m sure Lisa is great as well). While the program has a Christian base, I would like to know if the science will be conservative Christian influenced or secular.
Both me and my partner want to be teachers (more specifically he wants to be a creative writing professor and me a middle school history teacher) yet we both want to home school, I guess my kids wont be getting summers off lol.
You obviously have the options to pick homeschool over school. No judgement. As a new mom, I'm just curious why do you prefer home school over school? If the government offers quality free education through 12th grade, what makes you a better teacher than those who have been trained for years? Again, I'm purely curious and would like to learn. Thanks
One thing I find very hard to find within the home school community is Moms who have an only child and homeschools. All the youtube/ facebook moms have large families. Is there a community of Moms of only children? It would be greatly beneficial because not everyone was able to have a large family :(
My 11yr old son has ADHD and I am new to Homeschooling. My son want to make new friends but with this pandemic it's a little difficult for him. Angela what is your advice for socialization for kids with ADHD? Do you know if anyone has ever experienced this?
I joined( even though I’m not a new homeschooler, I homeschool middle/high schoolers so I thought I may be able to be helpful) but I’m not able to get into the Facebook group( it says it may be because of it being a small group), and am not sure what to do from here?
