When you are in "The Great" Vince Gill's home studio . Talking guitars , while Vince walks around barefoot with OG ,HomeSkoolin' shirt on ........Ole Ukle Larry , that reflects who you are ! AWESOME !!!!
A million thanks Uncle Larry. Mr Gill is one of my musical heroes, and now he is right up there as one of my favorite comics, he is a funny guy. The fantastic vibe of the place, the instruments, and most importantly, the people just pours through the screen. Your generosity in sharing your amazing life is just astounding, and i am the richer for it. Thank you so very, very much.
Uncle Larry, I can't tell you how much I appreciate how you look out for the Homeskoolers by inserting us into the fucking greatest adventures I for one could ever hope to experience! " '59, I heard that was a pretty good year." Hehe, nice one. Thanks Tom and thanks so much to Vince, the host of that musical scene!
All that talent and Vince Gill is one of the nicest, humblest and funniest human beings who ever stood behind a microphone on a stage. Every time I have seen him perform he's made me laugh until my stomach hurt...then he tells a story about his Dad or his wife, Amy - or someone else in his family and it makes me look around and hope people won't see a grown man fighting back tears. Blessings and Peace to you, Amy and your family, Vince. Thanks for doing this video, Uncle Larry ;-)
"Tune that guitar,,,,, I just did.." hah! Buk - this channel is not only the premiere guitar online guitar expression classroom, with perpetual deep dives into what it means to play for joy and the love of music. But beyond, a VIP look at what the most senior musicians see (and many DON'T SEE) in Nashville. It is an utter privelidge to witness. I know I speak for everyone that every time a new video lands, we all have a quick pulse of childlike excitement about what's inside today's present.
Holy shit Vince Gill on the show with a Homeskoolin’ T shirt? We are the cool kids. Not even gonna talk about the geetars in that room and what a sweet guy Vince is. Thanks Unc
You've gotta be freaking kidding me...Vince Gil's house?!! This is the most amazing Uncle Larry video to date for me, and that's saying a whole lot, especially since Ann Wilson is my top female Rock singer of all time, and all those videos were so awesome. Watching this video gave me such joy and elation that for 11 minutes and 43 seconds I totally forgot about my own shit in life and felt that I was one privileged SOB that got lucky enough to get an invite to come over to Vince Gil's house and hang and swap out stories with the boys. Then, the video was over and reality hit ...hard! No other youtube video has hit me like this one has. I grew up playing guitar with Clint Black and his brothers in Houston, and we were fans of his since back in the late 70's, early 80's, if I recall right. And, my favorite episode of Clint's "Talking in Circles" show was when he had Vince on there. Vince is renowned for being a great guy, but it sure is a great honor to witness that fact first hand. Btw, I swear I'd pay GOOD MONEY to watch a full length video of Vince talking with Tom and the boys and telling stories about his career and ALL his guitars. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Vince for allowing Tom to create this video at your home...and, Thank you Tom for posting it. I'm a huge fan of you both.
Uncle Larry, please keep these coming. Vince is a national treasure and it sure looks like the whole project is loaded with real princes. Also, it warmed my heart that Vince made such sentimental choices for his four from the fire picks. Makes me think my own sentimentality might be okay and is nothing to be embarrassed about.
I couldn’t be “musical” to save my life but I appreciate great music and great humans. Vince Gill just warms my heart. You can see the little boy inside him, vibrant and alive, in a “candy” store, never mind his talent. Love it. Thanks !
Vince is easily my favorite musician of all time and seeing him in raw moments like this solidifies my opinion even more. He's one of the few stars I would enjoy a day hanging out with.
I remember the day tom and vince came into timeless guitars in Cleveland and spent the whole day playing guitar and hanging out with clyde and myself. What a wonderful day .Tom and vince are truly the nicestmost humble guys..
What an awesome experience! Thank you Uncle Larry for sharing, and thanks to your awesome fellow musicians! I had a smile on my face the entire time... so much my cheeks hurt by the end of the video. Pure joy!
It's the Wood ! If you buy a house, guitar, violin or almost anything made of wood Before world war 2 it's most likely made with Old Growth Wood. Fantastic sounds and deep colors from the tight dense wood grains.
Vince's collection is the stuff dreams are made of. Not to mention how funny that man is. Always in good spirits. really contagious and giving his best as a musician and a human being. Larger than life Mr. Gill. That's why we all love him so much.
Thanks for that, Uncle Larry. I became aware of Vince Gill while hearing Liza Jane on my car radio about 30 years ago, when riding home from work. A fan ever since. This was great to see!
You’re onto something-guitar spa! just what we needed. Thanks for the upload. Vince is the real deal and I cannot wait to hear the music y’all make. BTW-what a guitar collection.
AWESOME field trip Unc!! What a genuine person and amazing musician Vince is. And that room is something from all of our dreams! What a memory to record the tracks right there. Thanks!
Vince your Studio/Home has changed since the last video of a few years ago…simply incredible! Congratulations on all your success…it’s well deserved! Thank you for sharing!
Hey Tom, Can't thank you enough for this episode!!! Vince Gill has always been one of my favorites!!! Met him years ago and he is a really a genuine guy and a great player!!
Those Teles, Les Pauls, 335s all lined up, radiating unspeakable quality and rareness, are incredible to see. Thanks for the tour, Uncle Larry, Can't wait to hear what you guys are recording!
Tom All I can say is thank you! You are living everyone of our dreams. If I could spend one day just sitting in that room listening with you guys it would be bucket list complete!!!
This was an amazing sight to see. I have so much respect for Vince and I am not sure if I would have been more star struck by Vince or his guitars. Wow!
Historic moments when those guys get together. Thanks for sharing! I want a book where Vince continues to tell the story of those guitars on each page!
Thank you Tom. Great questions to Vince, and loved hearing his connections to each instrument he chose, esp. the history with his former brother in law. Thanks for doing what you're doing here on your channel. I heard a song today and the guitar solo took me on a journey, no standard string of licks, and then there was this one smear and I thought, if that's not Tom playing, it's someone channeling him. Seriously man, thank you. Happy way belated birthday, you and the good folks you had with you slayed at the birthday show.
Vince is by far my most favorite "star" what a gentleman and incredible player. I knew he had a badass collection but this is above and beyond what i thought.. Thanks Uncle Larry!
Oh my sweet Lord! Amazing collection, amazing musician and human. Almost cried at the sentimental attachment and stories behind the instruments and people connected to them. Just a gift Uncle Larry, thank you so much for letting us in on that moment.❤
Absolutely my favorite entertainer, both music and hearing his stories . Lucky enough to see him live in a small venue in Northern New York..amazing guitar collection
Wow, just wow!! Such a lovely warm relaxed vibe in that room filled with incredible guitars and amazingly talented people. The more I watch Vince Gill the more respect I have for the man in every way. Incredibly talented and hard working, but thoughtful, kind and humble. I had the privilege of seeing Vince with the eagles a few years ago in Liverpool. Vince just slotted right in with the band like he has always been there. Thoroughly enjoyed this.
That was awesome 👌 thanks so much. My face hurts from smiling thru the entire video. Just remember classmates that Vince Gill could have anyone he wants and he picks our Tom and dear Jedd.
I appreciate letting us soak in the glory of that room. The other videos of it that I’ve seen were good. But this was great, thanks to some good questions. Thank you thank you 🙏
This is incredible. The first time I heard about you Tom, was at a Vince Gill concert in Enid Oklahoma! Vince is one of my top 5 favorite players, and seeing you on stage just smiling and rocking out with him instantly made me want to learn more about you. Keep Rockin!
I double what Jedd said. That room is like dream land. OMG. Not only a studio with every guitar tool one could possibly ever dream of, but filled with these amazing musicians and engineers. Vince just seems so damn down to earth and have a great sense of humor. He must be fantastic to work for. Thank you for the glimpse into 'Dreamland'!
Vince is the nicest guy in Nashville. I saw him when I was a kid in the 80's, in Muskegon Michigan. It was a huge blizzard and everything was shut down. We figured the Vince Gill show would be cancelled but we still went. We got there and he came out with a guitar player and told us that the rest of his band didn't make it but they were going to still give us a show. I don't recall many details, but remember my Dad going on and on about what a stand-up guy he was to still do the show (with no band) and he earned the respect of ALL of us that day. And, put on an amazing acoustic show. Many years later, I got to meet him and go on the bus (through a buddy and his drummer Billy). Once again, probably the nicest and most humble entertainer I've met. Zero ego, when he should have a massive one. One of my favs!!! Thanks for sharing this clip.
