No commentary Homeworld playthrough! For a more interesting gaming and viewing experience, no salvage corvettes are used and all cut scenes have been retained.
I remember that when I was a kid the sight of Taiidan ion arrays attacking mothership instilled a real sense of urgency and panic in me and threw everything I had at them. Now I understand, that the AI is essentially wasting its time attacking the beefiest vessel that deals zero dmg and ignoring the rest of my fleet. I wish the AI would be a bit more sensible in that way, otherwise it’s just so easy to exploit, when you’re not a kid who’s too amazed by the visuals and too worried about parents sending him to bed to think.
Really? I salvaged them all. That was one of my best groups in whole army. If you have first Homeworld, install it and play again trying to not destroy any frigates but salvage them. In last mission you be OP.
2:15 - it is possible to re-orient the screen so you can have a single support vessel set to guard all 8 combat vessels plus the other support vessel too. This means any of the 8 that gets damaged will have both support frigates available to repair it, plus if one support frigate gets damaged the other will repair it.
@@KajiTetsushi I remember that. This game is a lot better than the remaster. Newtonian physics and bullets push things around. Auto-harvest would've been nice though.
@@HelmutKohlrabi I'd caution against making autoharvesting an irreversible requirement, though, because it lends to potential increase of negligence towards protecting your resource collectors. But, id anything, adding this new QoL to an already aged RTS formula should always be opt-in, not opt-out, as the "dumb" resource collector is an established behavior that still persists to this day with HW2/DoK.
@@KajiTetsushi I'd really enjoy a modern variant of this that retains the cool stuff like the physics and atmosphere. The IP is not as important to me really. If anything then some pseudo-hard scifi thing similar to The Expanse plus some open ended gameplay salted with a pinch of an AI run 4X meta game. Hopes ain't high for Homeworld 3. Pretty sure it's going to be like HW2 in many ways.
