I have heard this sound many times, looked down at that fat fuel tank, watched the tach run right up to red line. We used to ride with about 25 or more CBX'es on the highway and it sounds like being in a bomber formation. There's a 79 and an 81 down in my garage right now.... Great video. Thanks! Just a beautiful sounding machine. Leave it to Honda to make something like this. The only negative thing I can say about the cbx is that the 2 middle cylinders are prone to overheating but there are ways around that. Legendary machine

Very famous engine the CBX engine. I can remember both my self and my brother shared one in the 90s and I could hear him coming from 3 miles away sounding like an F1 car is making its way towards us. Probably the sweetest and most beautiful bike engine there ever was.

I had a CBX 1000 brand new in 79. I loved that bike.. I actually loved it more than my girlfriend at the time.

I'm not a motorcycle guy at all, i prefer my motorised vehicles to have 4 wheels. Which in itself is strange considering my entire family drives and loves their motorcycles. Hear me out though... Today, by chance, i stumbled upon this RU-vid recommendation. Holy mother of all things unholy, this sound, this bike, this engine alone makes me want to get my motorcycle license and buy one in an instant. Such an outerworldly piece of machinery. I'm struggling to realise this brilliant machine is already 40 years old. That's crazy and it makes me even less hopeful for the future of machinery than i already am. But this... Goosebumps!

Whay a beauty was to live and see all the development in motorcycles 70s and 80s , i was young and everything was changing quickly, remember at 14 yrs old , stealing ( or borrow with no permission) when my father was working in another city , his 1980 Suzuki gs 750 , thank god nothing happened to me , i already have yamaha dt 175 and a kx 80 , but riding a 4 cyl bke , was the finest moments of my life , that mad max first movie , was a shocker for me , all was cool and unique , heavy metal , motocross, reading those magazines!! 👍🏻 But the cbx was outstanding

Back in the late 70s, imports were prohibited in Brazil, only coming back in 1992. Yet some of these made it here, legend has it, around 10 of these were illegaly imported for street racing. Indeed they were mainly seen on street races. Today at least 3 of them are seen running around in mint condition quite regularly, I had the pleasure once of being overtaken by one of these, really flashed by, this sound is something else

They should put this motor in a lightweight sports car. It's obviously better suited for the lightweight motorcycle but this sound coming from a car would be awesome.
