I just got a 400ex and i LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Never had a quad before. 15 years on a sport bike. Im getting to old to bang gears in the corners with the youngins so quads are a bit more of a happy medium!
Had an 01 400 for years but got talked into a 450r. Rode it for 2 years and hated it for the most part. I woods and trail ride and it didn't like being lugged. Just picked up a bone stock 13 400x with the factory tires still on it and I couldn't be happier.
Yep. I totally was. My motor was on it's last legs for this was the last even of the year and I didn't make it through my second pass. Ended up going home a day early.
Def. A ski slope so I assume it's relatively steep. Combine the broken-down trail that's all mud and racers wanting to go as fast as possible and I would assume it's very easy to just fly past that corner. seeing the quad slide the rear and him having to counter steer the bars makes me confident that he's locking up the rear end. I was on a sand motocross section with a 25 yard downhill that went to a berm to an uphill and a little too fast in 3rd gear caused me to panic lock the rear wheels, fly over the berm sideways and roll multiple times into the trees. The day I bought my used, ex ice raced, big bore, cammed, port and polished, bigger carb, she had some parts I didn't know when i brought at home from the dealer but should have assumed based on the ITP beadlock wheels and holeshot tires with stud holes polaris predator. I was used to running a modded out 91 250X around that course. Confidence, too much speed and no traction can get you into some very serious situations when racing
I was having a lot of issues. I swamped it on my first pass and it just wasn’t the same machine after. I had to tear the motor apart after this event. Was also still pissing with different gearing combos prior to this event and this just wasn’t it.
@@andrea4809 Airbox full of water = big uh oh. Was sucking water in through the filter. I had a huge loss of power. I was also geared for more top end during this event because of the cam I was running. I’m geared pretty low now. Lots of low end torque and power. Full throttle keeps the front wheels off the ground through 4th gear on pavement now. I have done anything since it’s been back together.
rzl07375 HMF Full Competition Series Exhaust Stage 3 Hot Cam Stage 2 Jet Kit K&N Filter and Intake. Those are all my mother mods I've done pretty much any and everything cosmetically. Extended A-Arms, grab bars etc.
SFG_kipper just to tell you i have used both k&n and uni rn i have an uni but i have used k&n it costs more but its worth it gives a nice sound and it gives a lot more power then the uni
Honestly. This was last race of the season for me. Motor was on it's last legs before this event. She blew on my second pass. I was just trying to make it through the weekend. This event wasn't anything but just for fun.

I went through a full rebuild after this event. My air box drain got clogged with mud on the practice lap that I neve noticed. Air box filled with water and I almost hydrolocked the motor. I left directly after this lap cause i couldnt even get it to turn over. Shit happens. I promise this quad isnt slow. Just wasnt a good day for me or the quad.
