Here's the 5000 mile rewiew on the HONDA CB125F, fantastic bike with having no problems at all, very reliable, this is not a comparison to other 125cc bikes out there but I can say the the award winning cbf125 has it all! Just bought one of these bikes and I’m absolutely over the moon with it. I’m a 6ft 3 60 year old and I’ve just done my CBT and going to take my test later on when I’m more confident on the bike. Great video

Good morning I do hope you are well and thank you for the question, I’ve been riding this bike for a year now and I’ve found it ok for me. The bike is light to handle and is very good for your first bike to train on. I’m now moving on to a Kawasaki ER -6N 650cc for my mod 1. My instructor says it seems a little bit small for me but personally I think it’s fine for the job. Not the quickest bike in the wold and they can suffer from this juddering thing when in traffic. I always put some injection cleaning fluid in the tank which makes a big difference. So basically I think it’s a great little bike for starting out I’ve loved mine and I’ve done some lovely rides around my local area. Anything else you would like to know then please do ask. TaX £21 insurance if you shop around £70-90 and does about between 45-55 mpg.

Great learner bike and an excellent commuter bike for Experienced motorcyclists to have in their collection, I don’t understand why Honda are charging so much for the Honda cub 125 when this bike costs less and is better in every way 🤔

Honda said the reason they won't put another gear on the cb125 because the chassis wont take it. I'm planning on one of these again. I had a 2011 one many years ago and I loved it. This one was built in India and the finish was not as good as I had expected. I believe they are now made in Thailand where the quality is better. Economy and simplicity are key strong points for this bike. I have several bikes and scooters but my ambition is to buy one of these and go touring north of Scotland, maybe other parts of the UK. Your bike looks in good Nick. I like it in yellow. Reminds me of the 2005 sv650s I once owned
@Labgorilla

Mine died on me at 6,500 miles. Seized engine. And because I bought it in 2015, spare engines were not available or really expensive. Now own a cbf125. Can get a spare engine for £400. The engine design on a cb125f is completely different to the older version so you won’t have as many spares available. I also thought that the gears were crunchy. This thing massively red lines at 70 mph. I wouldn’t say no problem. Gear indicator leads the inexperienced rider to over use of the display. On a cbf125 you’re forced to learn to listen to the engine and how to change gears properly. You learn that 5k revs at 40 mph means you’re in 5th. I’ll totally agree with you that it’s very smooth. They’ve clearly done something to reduce the vibration compared to the older model.

Wider tyres & Six gear on a CB? That’s the CB125R mate. Few extra quid more but an absolutely cracking bike.

I've just bought a new 2021 model and mate I've no experience on other bikes to compare it with but it's pure quality and I'm the same height and build as you (lot older mind you) and its a cracking bike, they done away with the starter motor and it's even lighter and more frugal than before but those skinny 18" wheels and being blown about are still horrible bruv, plus a 6th gear would help. Love the LCD dash its so simple to just glance down and all your info is right there. I cant wait to start using it end of march as I'm using the car for winter.. Great quality so easy to maintain nice and easy to ride with me being a short a&$e so yeah great cheap fun commuter 9/10 because of skinny tyres!!

go one tooth larger on front sproket , that should give you 5 mph and a few miles more to the litre, but slightley slower in acceralation.
@ozone7
@ozone7 3 года назад
I managed to just squeeze on a 17-tooth front-sprocket, and that gives me the "6th gear"! Real relaxed engine on the flats and downhill at high speed, and a lot less shifting while riding in city streets.
@Yorktimer
@Yorktimer 3 года назад
@@ozone7 I’m thinking of doing the same. Taking it that would reduce the 5th gear rpm at a given speed by 1000? Also did you need to grind down anything to make the 17tooth front sprocket fit or did it just go in? Also was the 1 or 2 more teeth than the stock one that came with the bike? Cheers and great idea 💡
@ozone7
@ozone7 3 года назад
@@Yorktimer The original is 15 teeth. I bought both a 16 and a 17 from Wemoto (just i case), and as it turned out I was just able to fit the 17 without any problem! The chainguard is now really close around the sprocket, but nothing more than close. Not tight or anything. And everything fit like original! When riding, your 1st gear becomes more like 1.5 or even 2nd... but you quickly get used to that. The bonus is that every gear gets a wider speedrange, so you don't have to shift gear as often, and of course you get a more relaxed engine and higher top speed on the flats and downhill. Good luck!
@Yorktimer
