The Yamaha should.nit have been named the r7.....maybe the L7, but to call it an R7 is just a slap across the face to the OW02 R7 that Haga rode the wheels off of in WSBK.
@No_Name still, both bikes are not made primarily for track. From that perspective, cbr650r is offering more, for less money. In my country CBR650R is cheaper then R7

@@MrVlada89 Wrong, The cbr650r is heavier, has less torque, worse brakes and has worse track setup compared to the yzf r7. So in fact the cbr650r is offering LESS than the yamaha r7 and is only good for sports touring rides, hence the sports touring riding position. Im sick of uneducated people claiming the honda is better just because it has four cyclinders and more horsepower. Horsepower and extra cylinders mean NOTHING when you have bad brakes, suspension and an extra 20kg of weight. On the track the yamaha would leave the honda cbr650r in the dust. The only people who will buy the Honda are the ones who like TOURING rides and the people who are simply uneducated. Yamaha all the way.
@ Go and buy one, then start talking ;) 4cil all the way. There are tests on YT where 650R is killing R7 on str8 line, so please, keep those numbers in the book, i talk about real things. I bought 650R, and would do it again.
@ oh, one more thing. I personally tryed mt-07 (same engine as r7) power is nowhere close to 650r. Again, keep numbers in the book. Real thing is what matters.

@@MrVlada89 yes IN A STRAIGHT LINE and it takes the cbr 650r 5 minutes just to get to that point where it does pass the Yamaha. Here's the problem, racing is NOT just in a straight line, meaning I would absolutely destroy you and your Honda on the track. Your bike weighs more, has worse suspension, less torque, and worse track riding position. You wouldn't stand a chance. By the time you reach your top speed, I am already around the next corner... Case closed.
