Oh my god!! I think I’m gonna have concussion. This is THE legendary Honda City. How old was I when I first saw on the street? I was in 8th grade when the car stopped next to us and my jaws dropped how sporty it looked and class apart any car on the street in those days. It was out of my league and it still is today. First impression is the last impression. Later down the road, I end up buying the dolphin Honda City ZX VTEC in the year 2008. It was the last of its species that Honda celebrated with 10th anniversary edition. But this first Gen (or the third Gen internationally) has a very special place in my heart. It’s nostalgic.
Metal Beings : Very much. I wish Honda could bring into production all those legendary models once again but in limited numbers. That original VTEC sound was a symphony to the ears. The one you drove might had aftermarket upgrades but there still was characteristics of the old VTEC. Honda City these are days are silent as a snail. Sure, it’s good. Opulent. But the charm of old VTEC vroom is unmatched to any Honda Car today.
It’s a smooth drive with city with the power of V-tech which I had 💐💐, indeed lovely car and no one can beat this in its segment , also called as Dr’s Car
I have a 2000 1.3 hondacity done 1.2lakh kms puts smile on my face whenever I revv it hard. Have not done any modification except for the horn,alloys,led headlights,roof backlights, the original seats still maintained in good condition. After seeing your blog how tastefully and eye catching modifications on your city hats off your selection. Presently my son drives the car to his college. I have changed 3 cars from 1995 but nothing matches rally based seating of this 2000 honda
@@tharakeshs6152 no problem my mechanic kumar does take care of spares.it hardly requires repairs. Engine super 👌 good,electricals no problem till now touch wood. Ac, suspension,power steering have not troubled me till now 2 FC'S 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 present. Government will not allow 3rd FC . Think like end of the journey 2025 to my beauty city
You mind sharing some stats of the car? Like the power and torque figures after the new intake and exhaust. Not to forget the spoiler adds another 5 horses 😅 also did you get a chance to clock in a 0-100 time? Also was this the vtec?
The car has not been taken to the dyno, so really not sure of the numbers. I'll remember to add the extra 5 horses when we do😅. This car is the 1.5 special edition not the Vtec.
If I buy a stock VTEC 1.5 city, how much would it cost to add new suspension, shock absorbers, brakes, tyres and rims, and engine upgrades to add a little bit more performance?

It is available. Genuine parts are easy to get but a bit expensive. But being a Japanese you wouldn't have much repair as the car is dependable if maintained well.

Totally depends on the condition and maintenance of the car. Starts from low as 1.5 lacs. If it's so well maintained then yea, most probably there should be room to negotiate.
@@seban6511 u will have to find a mechanic at Japan, who will cut the chassis and remove all the parts separately and package. That will have to be shipped to India and again ul have to have a good mechanic who can fix the 2 chassis to 1 and then fix all the parts back into the car.
Hi Bhavesh, I know the the times are bad. If you are sure of coping up with the current scenario then you can go ahead and buy, but if you think you need to be a bit more financially stable, then being patient and buying later is a mature choice. Because after you buy you will emotionally get attached to the car, giving up later is hard. Maintenance cost is not very high, if you have a good mechanic in contact then its surely affordable. 4-8 k average maintenance cost. Honda's are dependable.
