You had econ mode enabled for the entire ride. That softens the throttle response of the car a lot.

If you go to the Honda UK site they offer the civic with a 1.5 turbo VTEC motor. Since he is from Germany it is most likely a VTEC motor. Here is the listing from the Honda Site. I like how quiet this car seems to be on the inside .. almost no road or wind noises. Impressive.

Yes its a VTEC. i recently bought one and datasheet says so. its kinda different but its VTEC + Turbo. The CVT gearbox is pretty good actually. My honda has Sport mode on gear selector and flaps behind steering wheel that allowes you to "shift" manually. You can run it to redline from the bottom and it wont shift automaticaly in that mode and you can choose your RPMs and upsift or downshift whenever you want. Its way quicker than a manual gearbox because you can "upshift" or "downshift" basically without delay with those flaps . 0-100 in under 7 seconds. i like it.Only rant with the Civic is the sound system.It is trash and needs a proffesional overhaul.

Absolutely love the sounds of CVTs! Manufacturers need to stop listening to the complaints of those who hate them for some reason. They are more efficient and quicker!

This Honda Civic is a CVT which means gearless. How come it has a paddle shifter? We can feel the gear shifting in older Civics. So if you install a loud exhaust, you will feel the gear shifting when driving fast and it was fun. Does this civic would give the same feeling? Does the current generation Civic lose its legacy?

Why CVT when it artificially shifts? They could just use a regular automatic transmission instead, i cant think of any benefits a CVT transmission has to offer over a dct or a good torque converter

I don't like these jumping CVT controls... the point of CVT is constant peak power from the engine and continuous pull. These fake shifts add no much more excitement imho, but reduce effectiveness...

Does this imitates shifting gears? I only driven a Lexus with CVT, but that car had a constant RPM when I was accelerating. This one seems like it have gears.

That CVT looks abit a like like manual (I mean its better than Honda fit which doesn't feel like shifting or anything it just countinuousoly go, but for this civic at least it gives u the feeling that the rpm is dropping )

How is the CVT in normal driving ? Easy to live with or to much RPM (noisy) when in normal acceleration ?

I had a sporty blue with the orange line. But it was SR and the seats were not leather and gave me chronic back pain with a already degenerative disc disease. Was a shame as I only had it 3 months and couldn't of known unless I owned it and drove it for a while which I did.

Hello,is the cvt box subject to wear on the belts, and how much are the repair costs? , I see that this device with straps does not transmit the couple to 100% (one is far from it), I deduce that it is crap, and dsg idem. CVT box has no motor brake or artificial,too much deperdition of torque,there where dsg win. DSG at shifting gears(time period as short as it is), always problematic in the transfer of masses to downshift gears...loose mastering of mass control.
