I was looking for a comment about this danger! Hope your finger healed quick. Careful yall - I've seen people use a brick or a long bar pressed forward with the seat adjuster.
This dude is a genius! Only thing not clear is was pushing down right side to rotate the box to pull it out. I figured it out and his tips saved a ton of time. Thank you so much Dad and son. Haha, yes!!!!
Just to be said. If you are doing this to an lx/dx automatic go ahead and pull the filter and change the transmission fluid. Broken down to this point it's exposed. A lot of honda transmissions fail because of the 30k service interval on them is neglected, great post.
is there any difference of importance between servicing a manual or automatic trans? i have a 5spd civic nearing 200k miles and trans fluid has probably never been changed
@ironpickX Gear oil is not as critical as the atf on an auto. But at that mileage I would. As gear oil breaks down it loses efficiency. The gear box will build more friction/heat. Not sure what honda recommends for service intervals on a manual.
There is a third bolt which looks like a screw, but is more like a rivet. There is a rubber grommet which keeps it fixed, and after I destroyed it with tools I was able to pull and twist the filter part out with a great deal of force while somehow also not breaking it. Cleaned the throttle body with a toothbrush duct taped to a chopstick and some rags and it runs great now. Thank you for sharing the video!
my aircon doesn't work, someone suggested a faulty aircon relay ? in order to test it i took out another relay and put in in the slot where the air con relay was, no different aircon still doesn't work . So i put the relay back where i got it. After that i get check engine warning light and having problems with my idle speed . Anyone got some advise ?? Did i messed up the relay by trying it in the aircon slot ??
Hi. I have a problem with the same model of Honda,p2135 voltage correlation A/B. I can pay you 200£ if you fix me the error it doesn't matter is just a connector with 2£. Honda charged me 85£ for diagnose, and they told me it is throttle body,1.000£ to change it. They are i...ts. Every garage i found they wanted to change all throttle or pedal accelerator, without doing a test with multimeter.. if you are interested i can come next week any day and we shake the hands happy after this. Thanks
Makoy Macoy yes and it does not work , if you have problems you need to do a tps reset as the values are way out due to the dirty throttle valve , this can be done with a foxwell nt510 scanner , check my other video on how I did it , car now drives smooth as silk and returns a better mpg .
The only thing is not clear to me is: do you leave your car turn on (part II) while dissabling all the parts and then when you need to clean inside the TBI your boy press the pedal or you just turn on your car righ at the moment you need to clean it???? Doesn´t it damage or blow the car motor??? I heard this might occur but i´m not an mechanic, so what is your view on this????
superlauch25 almost like a lag on the throttle and really bad idle with the a/c on , once cleaned and reset I don’t even realise the a/c is on , previously it was very noticeable.
The cjrshop yea i saw that website when it happened i googled it. just looking for your insight. i actually just cleaned it using ur video and going for a test drive now
The cjrshop i cleaned the throttle body, didnt have proper cleaner used fuel injector/carb cleaner got a screwdriver and wrapped a micro fiber around it anf cleaned all in there. then reset my battery to get rid of code. in my test drive now its runninh really good no bogging like i had and the cel js staying off
Hello buddy, Do you have any idea how I could remove the rear plexiglass spoiler on the 8th gen civic ? I can see two bolts each side when you open the boot but undoing them doesn't do much in terms of removal? Cheers
The cjrshop Cheers for the reply buddy. The reason for the question was that the coating had started to peel off. Got chips away to to re lacquer the spoiler clear and the lacquer is again peeling off. Was wondering if there was any way to take this off and have it sprayed. I can send you a picture if you like ? It's not the type r just the box standard perspex spoiler with the third brake light in
+Akhil Varghese yes I too am having this trouble I am going to purchase some black vinyl wrap and just cover the top lip back to the glass screen , no expensive spray job or messy removal .
Hi, Its a great video just want ask 2 question. Did you remove battery terminal at any time during the throttle body cleanup procedure and is it compulsory to reset throttle body position with the computer after this job.
Fatimah Aamir if you unplug any sensors i.e. the maf then operate the key to ignition on and off it will log a fault code , so if you haven't got a code reader you will need to disconnect the battery to clear the fault , as for resetting the tps I needed to as my tb was filthy I've heard mixed opinions on this .but if you don't reset the tps you will find your car revving up etc .
