Thank you! Panicked for a second there lol car was running and gas cap wouldnt open even within proximity. Had to shut off the car and lock/unlock the doors then finally it worked again
OMG THANK YOU! I was totally stranded at the gas station and could not figure out what in the hell was happening. I have a 2021 accord exl and bought it new and this has NEVER happened before in 3 years lol I didnt even know there was a lock feature 😅😂
For some reason mine was locked despite me doing everything the same way I normally do and having the key on me, and I snapped the little clip getting it open… so I took it to the dealership and bought the replacement part, but even they didn’t explain why it happened or how this worked, and I almost snapped the replacement before finding this video, so thanks a lot man.
Since I'm considering getting the 2018 Honda Civic EX, you're the perfect person to answer the question as to whether you have fuel over flow at the gas pump when you set it to auto shut off while it's filling, something about the capless design inhibits the auto shut off function at the pump. Have you had this problem?
I use the Auto Shut Off on the pump every time and I have not had a problem with spills. The capless design works great. I love this Honda Civic and highly recommend them. I have several other Civic videos that you can find on my channel that you may enjoy.
This video accidentally (since it wasn't the point of the video) answered my question as to whether you can have the fuel door open when the car is locked since the car has to be opened for the fuel door to open. I don't have a Honda yet, but the reason I would need the fuel door open while the car is locked is to prevent thieves from "sliding" into the passenger doors and stealing property while I'm preoccupied on the driver side (it's a problem in some parts of the country).
i have the key , so hit the back of the trunk left side u pull that mat thats on the side next to the pump side and theres a loop and just pull it until u here it pop , it worked for me , this is another way of doing it instead of the unlocking your car and locking it method
i was about to ask this same question my gas cap pops open when i unlock my car, and the only way to get it back to close it to manually push the door shut and then locking the car at the same time. Its driving me crazy i might just take it to the dealership.
Mine won’t stay latched. When I unlock the car the gas tank door also pops open and then it won’t latch shut anytime I try to shut it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks so much!
Hi, 2023 accord today, my gas pump stucked and i had to pull out with strong power. It made strong popping sound and came out.. while putting gas in I was away from the car. Is this something related to this? Or is this new problem with my vehicle? And if I broke something inside of gas pump what happens? Should I bring it to dealership? Thanks

I have the same car for one week now. I live in Canada and the weather really sucks. So I was in the gas station today and I spent half an hour trying to open this stupid thing because of course it is frozen like hell. I had to crash the ice and open it using a screwdriver. Complete failure.

Hey i know this is an old video but what do you do while driving and your doors don't lock leaving the gas lid loose? Do you just have to lock your car while driving to prevent this? Why would they give you the option to not lock it while driving? Had our blow open in the car wash.
My problem was that the gas keeps spilling out as i fill up the tank. So idk if there is a certain way to insert the nozzle bc this keeps happing and i hate wasting gas like that.
Its not a good idea. What happens if that metal piece for the gas nozzle breaks off and falls into the gas tank? Then you've got one expensive problem.

One time i was fueling up my hatchback civic i couldn't remove the pump. It got stuck after it was done i waited 5 seconds then i couldn't remove it i pulled and pulled i felt that people were watching that i couldn't take the pump out it felt like it had a hard suction that i thought i was gonna be stuck by a pump at a gas station. I don't want that happening when i fuel up.

Hi there I have a question, so when I try and close my fuel door it won’t let me close the door all the way. Like it’s not latched. Like I have to physically hold the fuel door and then lock the car so that it stays that way. However when I unlock the doors it pops open slightly. Please help I don’t know how to get it back to when you just push it in and it clicks. PLEASE AND THANK YOU

i just pumped my wifes gas the other day while she sat in the car. i didnt know anything about the car being locked and it not opening. i was able to pry it open in 5 seconds and broke the plastic piece. now i have been looking everywhere to find the piece that catches the lock. should be a very cheap part but i cant find anything.
@@kenmushrush9438 ha. No I have just been opening it with a credit card. I called the dealer and have not heard back. They gave me the run around to their parts department. No one really knew what I was talking about. The part seems like it should cost pennies.
