Sometimes I wonder why the lines of the hood differ on different civics, I’ve seen ones that are almost non existent to ones that look as your peering into a dark void, which I assume it’s just hood gaps from it being in an accident.
You will need the ez installer programmer. Order the simple key kit, which includes the programmer and one key. You can reuse the programmer on the same vehicle several times to make several spare keys if needed.
Yes, that's right for most vehicles a few have it behind an easy to remove panel just left of the steering wheel. Not sure yours specifically. Owner manual probably will have info

Hmm - that's an interesting one. You migth be able to swap the circuit board into a key that has the blade cut to do the programming and then put it back into the one that's uncut. But, the real question is - why not just make an entire spare? Or check out our Honda key repair kits on our website to see if that will help you.

I have only one key for my Honda but it was stepped on and broke the casing so the key will no longer start the car but will turn the car over still. I'm just wondering if this programer will still work using the damaged key I have? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I got curious and thought I could try talking the board out of a new key and put it in my old one, it does in fact work. I just ordered another one to salvage the board out of so I don't waste a 55 dollar cut job and have another spare key 😊 I actually found them 2 for 20 on ebay so I will have a spare board also😂.

I have two "fob" keys [2014 Civic] that start the car and unlock the doors, but the buttons will not lock/unlock the doors or pop the trunk. The LED lights up when I press the buttons. Will the programmer make the buttons work properly?
The Simple Key kit has a programmer and one key. The new key buttons should all work great. Your old key buttons likely have something damaged inside if some of them so not work
