Very informative video. I never done a 2000 civic before it was great to see where all the screws are located . I have the same year civic same color that I’m currently changing the OEM player with a Walmart Pioneer deck and also have a 8yr old 600w pioneer Amp and 10” pioneer sub I want to throw in. Thanks so much for the help on my journey appreciate it. (Liked, subbed)

btw guys, i HIGHLY suggest keeping your distance from boss as big as possible. i know he stated it wasnt a high end brand, but i cant stress enough how bad most of their radios actually are. they usually only last a few years AT MOST and are made very very poorly. they have very low quality built-in amplifiers as well, meaning the sound you get from them is very poor and quiet. if youre in a pinch for money, i understand how good of deals this brand looks like it has, but i suggest other budget brands like pioneer and especially kenwood. if you want true quality all around the table, sony has some fantastic options as well, single and double din. just be sure to do research before pulling the trigger on a radio for a car, as its such an important factor to the overall ride experience

I couldn't agree more. This was only to replace a non functioning radio and I was not going to be keeping the car. 👍🏼

@@DCAutoEnhancement right on. i dont want you to think i was criticizing you or your video or anything tho, it just sucks when i see people buy these expecting a lot and then getting disappointed. i work for a company that installs all different kinds of car electronics, and i work with radios the most so i see this happen a lot. have a good day homie

I just bought a honda civic 1998, it has the stock stereo at the top which turns on and works but no sound emits, and aftermarket stereo on the bottom. I took out the aftermarket stereo and all the cables have the white cap you put on the orange wire you were not going to use. Does this mean all I have to do is remove the caps and connect them in order to have sound in my car?
@DCAutoEnhancement
@DCAutoEnhancement Год назад
That should work. Sounds like the previous owner had an amplifier and didn't use the head unit to power their speakers.

I ordered a jvc stereo but isn’t dis blue one it’s dis red one would it still be the same process on wiring? Or placement
@DCAutoEnhancement
@DCAutoEnhancement Год назад
Any aftermarket single DIN radio would use this process and parts.

This one is fun, especially if you have an EX model that runs the dome light and keyless entry thru the stock radio.
@DCAutoEnhancement

Yes, t harness and figure out where you're going to put the factory radio. I figured by now they would have come up with a plug and play bypass

If you use the wiring harness, you have nothing to worry about. That happens when the red wire on the new unit has a constant 12 volts

The orange wire is for illumination. When you turn your lights on it will dim the radio display.

@@DCAutoEnhancementso if it the radio doesn’t have orange, no dash lights? 🤔
@DCAutoEnhancement

All that happens if there is an orange wire that is hooked up is that when you turn your headlights or parking lights on, the radio will dim.

Did this and have no audio through the speakers
@DCAutoEnhancement
@DCAutoEnhancement 10 месяцев назад
The audio worked fine. Make sure the blue wire is hooked up on the harness going into the car. It will need to be hooked up to the blue/white wire from the radio. If it doesn't work after that, it's possible that you have a blown speaker shorting out amplifier in the radio
@TheSimulatorSmith
@TheSimulatorSmith 10 месяцев назад
@@DCAutoEnhancement I did find out my particular civic does not have an amplifier, speakers were switched from my 94 civic to my 2000 they are aftermarket PRV Audio and worked perfectly, I may have a connection problem in that connection panel in the door cause the rear deck plays after connecting the same speakers to the rear.
