Here’s a quick video of me unboxing and installing my spare wheel kit for the Type R Instagram @nsr_productions_ Wheel Kit Part #06421-TGH-A13ZA Tire: 42751-CTL-031 (18 inch Continental)
so I just installed a kit of my own which was the 06421-TGH-A33ZA. My floor board that came with it came with the 2 blocks detached unfortunately. I hot glued it back on. Also my floor board on the right side fits perfect, and it doesn't have that "FLAP" that you have. The only "FLAP" is on the left side where you need to flip it up in order to help with accessing your floor jack. Also, I could be wrong, but from your video, it looks like you had the wheel tie down "cone" backwards. It would say "this side up" for compact spare or full size spare.
Thanks for this great vid!! After losing two A$450 front tyres in 3 weeks, with sidewall tears, due to terrible potholes in my area, i'm going straight to Honda to get one of these :P
In 3rd world country we just replace high profile tires and keep the original wheels. Our money is smaller than USD so these wheels are very expensive.
how did you go about with where you relocated the air compressor? was there room anywhere else to store it in the trunk/side cover panels? I bought my type R used and it never came with one. I'm considering buying it as well when buying this spare wheel kit.
I purchased this for my FK8. Best thing I’ve bought so far as the factory tyres are so soft I was concerned about punctures. Mouse doesnt always effect a repair. For anyone in the U.K. I purchased mine from here www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/honda-shop/genuine-honda-civic-type-r-fk8-spacesaver-wheel-2017-onwards/
another question, what size are youre rims? looks like you have more meat on it. i just purchased the 2021 , it has 20", with low profile tires. i need this spare kit for a peace of mind lol
They go on the boot/trunk floor. They are to stop the wheel rubbing through the paint. There should be three raised sections that the wheel sits on. This is where you stick the spacers.
Thanks for the video! I just got the same kit with the same part number as yours. Did yours come with the emergency nozzle? Mine didn’t. Just wondering, thanks!
NSR Productions Thanks for the reply! It’s used for putting gas in the tank using the capless fuel system. After looking at your video I took a peek in my car. Turns out our cars came with them already so not sure why they have it listed in many of the Type R spare tire diagrams as part #2. It’s located in the left panel where the jack and spare tire kit go. Thanks again!
I ordered it through my local Honda Dealer. You can go to yours and order the whole kit. The tire is separate, but they order it with the kit and will mount it to the wheel. I have the part numbers in the video description. Hope this helps!
