This video was very helpful. I managed without removing the bumper but this video really helped me visualize the parts that I couldn't see very well from under the hood. For a guy like me, taking off the bumper would have ended with a five broken clips and a crooked front-end. To anyone looking to do it in a similar way, here are some tips. The connector on the back of the bulb needs a short twist and then can be pulled out in a similar manner to pulling a plug out of an outlet, straight back. It can feel stuck though, and that is when undoing the clips first is useful, however, then you have to pull the bulb out of the connector without having anything holding the bulb in place. Then, unlike in the video, because you don't have as much room to maneuver, put the bulb in the lens housing, put the clips on it , and then plug the connector back on. The second bulb was much easier once I understood that the clip holds the bulb in place, not the connector, that and, the passenger side has much more room to work with.

I'm changing my fog lights and other videos neglected to show all the clips at the bottom of the bumper or how to get it out from the headlights (pry up with a screwdriver?). I bought ramps to lift the car but the spoiler is too low to drive up them. Gah... waiting on a friend with a better jack.
Thanks for watching! I found that the ramps from autozone(the plastic ones) work great because of better angle of the ramps and didnt have to remove the bumper to drive up them.
Uh I have done this twice on my 2011 ex you don't have to take the car apart or headlights out just open the hood and remover the hid bulb caps from the rear. Don't touch the glass envelope of the bulbs and you don't remove the spring retainers till after you twist the connector and remove it from the back of the bulb. Your right about not buying from autozone the prices are insane.
Removing the bumper and headlight doesn't need to be done to replace the bulbs in either the low or the high beam. I have never needed to do this to change the bulbs.
@@southerngearz Both. You can access the bulbs from in the engine bay. You'd only need to remove the bumper if you were replacing the ballast, as its attached under the headlight itself.
Do you know where to find the connector wire ? I got the replace bulbs from your link and it works great however I can’t fix my passenger side because I don’t have the wire that connects the socket to the ballast
Thanks for the vid! I’m gonna be replacing both my HIDs soon, but I’m hesitant to take off the entire fender. Is it possible to replace the bulbs without taking off the fender?
There is a viewer who says that it is possible but i had issues getting good access to the hid with the headlight in place. My hands might be bigger or smaller than theirs so it is worth a try.
Southern Gearz Update: I was able to replace both HIDs without having to take off the fender. But man it was a pain in the ass. Those metal clips were the worst part. But yeah, it can be done.
It is the greyish plug to the left and right. It should just twist unlocked and then just pull it out. Sorry it took so long we are pulling the motor and had to find the headlight to find out.
They probably will. Same situation as you, even with the left side. I went to a Honda dealer for an estimate. They wanted to charge me $383 for one bulb. Not an exaggeration, literally $383.32. For one. So needless to say, I found a two pack on Amazon for like $90. They are expensive bulbs, though.

IDK how anyone would want to do this without taking off the front bumper. Yes the fasteners from the bumper are a bitch but getting the silver clips to latch the right way on the bulb housing are even more of a bitch, and that was _after_ having pulled the whole assembly out. Omg that's bs, to take off the bumper to install some hid bulbs, crazy, no wonder I cant open it metal cap lo beam projection, the hi beam was a twist cap easy.
