Honda Diesel Particulate Filter Restricion Cleaning & Oil Change Service. Honda Blocked DPF Cleaning email orileysautos@gmail.com Launch UK products used in the video are available at www.launchtech.co.uk
Bought a CRV recently DPF light just like that (tried talking it for a long motorway spin) changed oil done a clean waiting for launch evo tool to re-set light 💡 hope that does it 🤞Thanks for your videos 👌
Had a woman in yesterday asked for mot and how much to change oil on a car that’s on 7k , it’s not had an oil change for 4 years 😂 and she’s thinking it doesn’t need one 😂😂😂😂
Routine servicing so commonly forgotten about either through absentminded, bury head in sand or lack of funds. Yet even if they had done the service, how many mechanics would be aware of how to reset the oil life, was certainly a bit of a flaff with your hi level scanner. Wonder if a more basic service reset scanner been more straightforward and effective 🤔 very interesting video thanks
Heads up folks, the 2.2 147bhp Dtecs take 5.5 litres of oil, not 5.9 litres. It's the older 2.2 138bhp cdti's from the previous gen that take 5.9 litres.
I have a accord 2.2dtec . The option to reset the oil change on the dash is not there. Honda can remove the oil change indicator , I've read it can throw up other faults linked to when the oil change is due/overdue ?
Mitsubishi Outlander has a very similar thing showing "dpf service required" It does throw up a code saying the oil level is high. This is just a calculated value as there's no level sensor on them. Into special values then engine oil and reset it. At the very least lower the oil level down to your max as well.
I think it is a good idea not doing a regen (or or forced regen) with oil diluted with diesel, but it's a bit stupid it not giving you a message telling you so.
Same for KIA, DPF warning light ON without further detail information even though the DPF is cleaned. And no workshop in my country knows how to reset DPF learned soot value.
You are spot on Timbo, Launch claims they the best with their software......i do not think so! However my two year Autel shows shows relatively lot more data and more informative than Launch diagnostic tool.
I have same car, got same error after putting engine flush additive in before changing my oil. It didnt like it and I had to clean the dpf as per video.....really annoying, but no more enginer flush for me, just straight oil change
I’m curious. My GF just got this message, and i changed the oil w/filter like 7 months ago, and she’s driven prehaps 2-3000km. Is the oil allready that bad? I usually change oil yearly or within 10000kilometers, and here she haven’t driven half and allready giving issues? 😅
Im currently waiting for the dpf products to come back in stock on the lauch web site i know you use the dpf cleaner in most of your videos but what about the other products the sell do you rate them ??
Hi Jimmy so I had a regen then 2wks later the warning light comes back on , scanned it no fault so my mechanic reset the ECM/PCM,reset data, write data to reset the oil life, then reset calculated pm value. He didn't do an actual oil change as it had one in November but warning light goes out and then comes back on 5 miles later. Do you think this is because he did not do the oil change , can the ECU recognise if the oil is diluted? Cheers Steve
From the dreadful state of the filter, It looks like the owner created his own problems from neglecting a relatively cheap oil change .Not so cheap now !😏
Hallo kann kein English. Habe 2013 Crv 2.2 Diesel. Letzte Zeit sogar 4 mal Regeneration gehabt innerhalb 8 Wochen. Habe deswegen 2 mal Öl gewechselt in 8 Wochen!
Many japanese cars will trigger oil dilution fault code in such case according to my experience. Seems like honda's software engineers were too busy to do that🤦♂️
I serviced my Honda frequently and used top notch oil and still it repeatedly required aerosol cleans and forced regens. The system is utterly crap on CRVs. To be fair it’s the only crap bit but it’s crap. The issue seems to be related to the dpf being mounted in the front in the huge airstream. At motorway speeds in cooler weather it’s unable to achieve the heat required for regeneration and clogs. It’s an example of immature technology rushed to market that does no good for anyone let alone the environment. Best cure is a masonry drill defeat through the core!
I hardly take my 2.2 DTEC for short trips, the people that buy diesel because "MPG" but all they do is city driving and short trips.. crazy.. 30000km a year and lot's of highway and it sees enough accelerations up to 3 - 4K (gotta teach those EV's a lesson in whois boss sometimes), the engine is built to make miles and not hypermiling destroying clutch, DMF, DPF, and axles because "I cruise at 1500rpm and shift at 1800rpm because cluster says I should". My old man was a marine engineer for 40 years and taught me all about engines. Poor maintenance, poor fuel and poor use destroys everything.
