And that is the reason it sounds like crap anybody who knows anything is aware that the OEM exhaust we were unable to hear the engine. Didn't sound like a sewing machine or a tin can.
When the Honda Civic CRX came out in 1984, it had a curb weight between 1650 and 1850 lb depending. Engine was a 1.3 L a 1.5 L making a total of 60 horsepower. Car was being advertised as being able to get 62 Mi to the gallon. Not a hybrid, not electric pure efficiency. I bought a brand new one in 1987 one of the most Dependable cars I've ever owned. Let me add it did not sound like a sewing machine when the original exhaust was on the vehicle you could not even hear it running it was butter smooth.
Crx is the first car I ever rear ended. It was raining and at first he tried to brake check a jag. I didn't think much if it at the time and ended up fallowing him into the mall, as we approach the stop sign he suddenly slams on his brakes so I slam on mine, a good down hill on wet pavement and heavy brakes and his rear end cleared the front bumper of the chevy hhr I was driving and destroyed my grill and radiator. Cops wouldn't come due to private property and he got to the police station before me since I had to wait for a tow and use a second vehicle. He claimed I was doing 30+ and he was stopped and slammed into him. The cops showed me the damages so I showed them my dash cam and they ruled him at fault, then a few days later his insurance says they are going to sue me for the damages since he lied saying I destroyed his rear hatch and bent his frame so his passenger door wouldn't open along with other damages. So I sent the letter to my agent along with the not at fault report and cam footage and nothing further happened. It was a red crx, I think from 89.
PS this Chevrolet SSR was one of their least successful production cars whereas all the Hondas sold very well we all know the reason why if you don't keep buying Chevrolet. My first new Honda car was in 1987 car ran flawlessly. 350000 MI the only reason I traded it in I got tired of looking at it. Stepped up to the Honda Accord.
@@Mr.Robert1 I had the hhr not ssr. It was designed by the guy who designed the pt cruiser. It was designed during the retro era so it got alot of its design from older suburbans from the 50's. My hhr actually lasted quite a while. 235k miles before I just sold it. I only got rid of it because gm put enough of a gap between the body and gas tank a rat could chew up the lines and wires for the fuel pump. Don't get me wrong I do like Hondas such as the accord 2 door manual I had. But the crx driver gave me bad impressions of the crx since during the accident the passenger door couldn't open. So for the frame to bend at a sub 10 mph incident I never trusted the crx or civic hatch that fallowed. Also tells you how hard brakes were pressed for his rear bumper on a stock height crx to clear the front bumper on a stock height hhr. Let alone that his passenger door didn't open and the only damage I sustained was a busted 80$ grill insert and a 140$ radiator. Plus some minor touch ups to the top of the bumper where his crx slid off.
I rear ended one long ago with my 02 suburban 2500. The idiot tried to brake check me too. My truck never spat it out. I think it digested it and turned it to exhaust smoke 😂.
