This was my favourite creation to date, I think that's due to the fact that it wasn't a straight forward 'take apart, clean, restore, put back together' I had to make parts, to change most of the wiring, fabricate items, to think about everything, I had the concept in my mind's~eye, no forward planning, just half an idea in my head of what I wanted it to look like, and it's exceeded my expectations by a very long way. there is something strangely pleasing about the colour scheme. I love it to bits, it had many teething problems, the K&N air filters looked good, but it allowed too much air in, hence it was running too lean, and had a huge flat spot. it runs great now with the original air box on. I have hundreds of photo's, but I thought i'd keep this one short. sorry about NO sound (until the end video clip) the previous videos ive made have had music on them, but ive got into trouble with copyright issues. I hope you like what ive created. thanks for reading. Enjoy!

Nice job ! the only thing I would change is the gap between tank and frame , perhaps some sort of filler panel ? mesh? I also think it would look good with the plate attached to the rear mud guard rather than the seat but that's only my opinion. Always takes longer than you think once you get into it but worth the effort as its so unique.
@eadsierestorations
@eadsierestorations 7 лет назад
I have alloy mesh, its something I'm going to spend lots of time on next summer, it will do for now. thatks for the nice comments/advice.

Hi, trying to produce a bare bones deauville from a very cosmetically challenged but running bike, largely inspired by what you've done which looks brilliant. Having chucked out the fairings the big challenge is the wiring, did you minimise yours by soldering to do away with all the huge block connectors fitted as original?, all the best, stay safe

Enjoyed watching that, great job. Like others, I think you should have tried to do something with that tank frame gap, it was the only un-aestheticly wrong thing with it.

Hi Eadsie. Many thanks for the Deauminator vids, I'm part way through building a similar one and then saw your build on RU-vid!! Any more pics or vids to share? ... What tyres did you use? ... Dave
@eadsierestorations
@eadsierestorations 3 года назад
Continental tyres, i can't remember exactly what is on the deaustroyer video, i may have other photos somewhere on an external hard drive
@dthatthe

On the video you say you fitted 'adventure tyres'. I love the look of the Army bike, agressive almost. I'm a big fan of the Deauville anyway as it ticks all the boxes for me... a very underrated bike. Can't wait to get mine done, probably a month or two... Thanks

I have an NTV600 which is similar to your Deauville, and I was wondering why the pod filters ran bad? Could it be that the carbs where jetted for more air? (it's cause i'm wanting to delete the stock airbox like you originally planned)
@eadsierestorations
@eadsierestorations 4 года назад
You would need to re jet the carbs to balance the mixture, otherwise too much air
@harrisdoesthings
@harrisdoesthings 4 года назад
@@eadsierestorations ah yes, thought as much, thank you for your reply! My carbs are in dire need to rebuilding so will look into what jets they take (34mm Keihin CV) and hope to run the cool looking pod filters!

Hi, I too am doing similar to a Deauville. I have a running bike missing the plastics etc. I am also in agreement with others that the Deauville tank leaves the massive gap between tank and frame. I will probably be fitting an ntv / revere tank or maybe even a CBR600 one. My question is that will I need the ntv air box to go under the tank, will the Deauville one be too bulky. Thanks and regards. PS. Love your bike a great source of inspiration 👍
@G58
@G58 2 года назад
Needs a different tank. That gap just looks odd. You could blank it out with an air scoop on one side and to balance it out, a rocket launcher on the other…!🐴😂🧐😎😜 You could use plastic drain pipe, and mould it to the right shape by heating it up in the oven. Needs military style numerals too. Also ammo boxes as panniers, and knobbly tyres, and a big whip aerial. Peace

I'm sure whoever owns it has done just that

Thanks for sharing your creation with us. Amazing. Was it a lot of work to change all the paperwork? Again, what about insurance? Do you still insure it as a Deauville? ("Any modifications sir?" : "Well...")
@eadsierestorations
@eadsierestorations 5 лет назад
Just basically changed the colour, and insurance stayed the same, i did let the insurers know i had removed the fairing, but was still essentially a deauville
