Stick Shift Honda Del Sol lining up with a Dodge Challenger Hellcat, Camaro SS & another Challenger (Scatpack or 392 maybe?) for some 1/4 mile drag races at Street Car Takeover
@@monawashington7913because they didnt have proper suspensions till after the 2010s, even tho every manufacturer had evolved into mcpherson struts and independent suspensions for almost 2 decades.
@Greg Davis my del sol got hit during a car chase.... was at a red light waiting for it to turn green, on my way to a body shop to get a carbon fiber hood mounted. Heard sirens behind me and by time I looked into my rear view a uhaul rental van rear ending my car and smashed the back end. Then the uhaul proceeded to drive over the center divide and Carry on in its attempted get away chase with the police cars just all passing me. By standers got outta there vehicles to check on me & eventually the cops came back to write a report but my del sol was totaled. Wanted to repair it but the rear alignment was all fkd up. Still miss it till this day.
B? K? How much power are you putting down? So close to finishing my CRX and all my buddies run Camaros , Mustangs and Dodges it's getting more exciting by the day as it gets closer to finished
@@mattstarnes2006 on the 10.70 run it was about 630whp. That weekend I had the car turned down to run in 11.0 index. The best has been 10.44 at about 142 mph.
let it be stock like the others, or let the others get tuned up too, dat del sol bet you either costs as much as dat hellcat or more cus of dah tune upss😭😭
@@chungs4200 Hellcats are like $60k+. No way this Del Sol is even close to that. The car, and a fully built, sleeved engine, with a high end turbo kit, cooling, ecu, and dogbox wouldn’t even be $35k. And this has a standard gearbox, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the entire build was less than $30k said and done.
Lol there’s nothing 90’s about this car besides the body. 99% chance it’s a swapped (most likely k series) engine, modern turbos and components tuning etc… The chassis is good looking IMO and a great platform to build on but this is by no means your average DelSol. Lol
This makes me miss my del sol so much had a ls turbo in it w a blown 3gear but still would spank a lot of ppl the car pulled so damn hard fr remember doing a 2 block butnout w it
I know it’s not the exact same, but I miss my ‘91 CRX Si. 😞. Good example of why sheer Power isn’t everything. Being a FWD, how in the hell does he take off the line like that??!
@@tominator992 I wouldnt be so sure nowadays. Man there are some wild single cam builds now. The 62/62 seems to play to the weakness of the D16 and make it a strength.
@@voodooturbo Jesus dude, you're clearly too thick to even write your (incorrect) insults with some variety, from one to the next...anyway, as Thomas very politely explained to you, his "turbo'd tin can" IS NOT "gutted" at all...oh, & it can run EVEN FASTER than it did here!!
@@voodooturbo I get what you mean. Most Hondas are completely gutted tin cans. My car is still a full interior, has heat, and a radio lol. No air conditioning since the original owner ordered it like that, I don’t know why lol. But this is all about power to weight. My car weighs in at 2600+ lbs with me in it and makes in the mid 600 when it’s turned up. I had it turned down to run 11.0 index that weekend as the car has been 10.40s in the 1/4. I’m a true car guy so I respect anything that’s at the track. In racing you never know what’s gonna happen!
Absolute goofiness. I've seen a 100 or so of these videos with a Hellcat losing. Guess what else is true? Wilt Chamberlain couldn't play basketball well. I've won 10 marathons. Brady can't throw a football more than 10 feet.
