Update, I did get it working. I reset to factory setting. Connected the truck to the internet. In the browser I opened up auto hack, entered my code and it downloaded without using a flash drive.
the key binds are actually good if you go into it. Like for my use i hold the go back button on steering wheel and it activates the rear camera when driving. the pro also lets you make a app automatically open when the car turns on.
Yeah most likely. So knowing that would you still accomend the free hack version or paid. Also does it work with the 2018 Canadian Sport version. I know the american versions are alittle different when it comes to whats offered in each trim.
@@YuriyMotso so if you disable disc traction mode, which I've done, then I can use other apps while driving? I wanna make sure I can use RU-vid music while driving.
Still looking for something similar for the 2019+ Ridgeline. It seems Honda locked things down tighter but didn't make any improvements for 2019. Love my 2019 RTL-E but can't wait to see what they do for 2025, when the Ridgeline should be an all new design. If it isn't a step backwards I'll be one of the first to buy a 2025... when they're available used with 20k miles. :)
That's Awesome! I'm looking at upgrading my Odyssey with a newer Honda of some sort. Will this work on the front console & the entertainment drop down screen for the back as well? I'm just hoping to have them display the same thing.
One thing I would like to be able to do is, when backing up, switch to the side view camera and then back to the rear view, whilst staying in Reverse, any thoughts if this is possible via some sort of hack? I spoke to my dealer and they didn't think that would ever be an option. . . Thanks!! Keep up the great work!!
Not sure. Probably if you go into the maintenance menu you may be able to switch back and forth while backing up. However that would take a lot of time to do every single time you wanted to back up
So the Civic version shows Advance Settings, and in there is a "Park" option, which then allows on-the-fly settings to the default Navigation for the vehicle. Does the Ridgeline version have the Advance Settings, Park option?
it won't let me install it on my 2017 Honda Pilot elite I already bought it and installed it on my usb but when I put it on my car it won't let me install it I need your help what can I see
My head unit looks the exact same as your but I’m in a 2018 I do not have the new Honda Pilot head unit with knob could I still add the RU-vid alternative?
Yuriy, do you know of a way to allow for a longer "self driving" type of capability? You know, now it drives for 10-15 seconds and tells you to put your hands on the wheel. Is there a way to allow that to go longer, like, forever where the car drives itself without the need for human input (although a hand can be close to adjust for incorrect computer input)? Just wanted to know if you know of anything...
That's something most of us would like but, with all due respect, trying to coax an average Honda to drive itself is a very bad idea. Other car manufacturers have put a ton of research, testing, and development into making their cars drive themselves, and their results are still not what you are asking for. This is asking for major trouble, as our cars simply don't have the sensors, processing power, or testing to drive themselves reliably. The stock ACC + LKAS is useful and is about as much as we should expect from the hardware and software we have.
For the audio you may have the wrong setting on your head unit. Example Bluetooth, aux etc… you need to change that. For new pipe, I’m not sure why it’s not working.
The developer just informed me that NewPipe is no longer supported and to download RU-vid Reload, which now works. Still not getting sound in both RU-vid and Netflix and it’s driving me nuts.
So, you have to be connected to your device via wifi to run these apps, or only during install? Seems like a better hack would be to enable screen share from your device. Great vid, thanks!
So you have to use your phones hot spot to send the data to the head unit. I honestly use this feature way more than I thought. Used it about 4 times last week alone. Screen share would be awesome but again that is done via an internet connection so basically same as hot spot.
I personally have not thought to switch out my head unit. Reason is that many of them in my experience lose some of the functionality that came with the vehicle in the first place such as the in bd resonators. I would hate to lose that feature as I use it frequently with my son. Im slowly working my way around the truck and who knows I may look into a new head unit but for now I do not intend on switching it out. I also love that my 2018 does not have a dial for the volume. I think it was dumb of Honda to succumb to people not able to adapt to new tech. Though some people may have had bad experiences, I don't think it was worth going backwards.
Has anyone else had problems downloading the software? I paid for the basic and got the link and the code. I entered the code on my laptop and after multiple tries and some of the times 30 min. still nothing. Any ideas?
Hola buenas podría contactar contigo para ver si me podrías ayudar con mi pantalla de Honda Civic que no consigo instalar nada y es como la que muestras en el vídeo
I have not seen a new update for the 2019 model yet and I hear you on the long boot up times. However, I do not think the load up time will ever change with any update or hack. This is part of the system process to boot up just like a cellphone. Take iPhone for example, its way more powerful than this head unit however it still takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute to load up.
for some reason my keymapping isnt working. I get prompted to hit a button when assigning however the head unit just reacts to the default usage or nothing happens. Am I missing anything. I've tried the apk straight from the ridgeline page, the car's webbrowser, and updating to the latest within the app.
Yes, as long as you are connected to an internet source via a hot spot you can watch while driving. Since this hack doesn't remove the distracted driver setting which is where you touch the screen while driving you can watch my other video on how to disable the distracted driver setting so you can select videos or change them while driving.
This app will not be able to do that however, Honda I actually considering sending out or selling a USB that will allow for wireless android and CarPlay. So if that becomes known I will post that up as soon as I know this is confirmed.
I have not seen any issues since I installed this on my unit. I actually have been using it a lot more now that I move to Georgia with things being further away. I can let my son use my iPhone to watch his shows and then I can log in and have my show or movie running at the same time. Very convenient.
No. Everything took a matter of seconds. Maybe you had lost internet connection while you were attempting it? did it work for you or are you still hung up?
Do you have a lower trim than the RTLE and are you asking if it is possible to replace your head unit with this head unit on your 2017 model? I so then I am sure you can but it will probably be quite a bit of work.
Hi, I sent an email but I figured I'd ask here as well- is there any support for Acuras with the very similar AcuraLink system? I have a 2016 TLX I would like to install this on. I believe it's the same setup as the Odyssey/Pilot with navigation.
Hello. Sorry for not replying. Must have missed your email. Unfortunately it will not work. I believe it has to do with the coding and these are not designed to work with the Acura hardware. If I had a vehicle to test it on I would do it.
You've got all the good Ridgeline stuff! The head unit is identical to my 2020 - any idea if it would work? The website only says 2017-2018 but the UI is identical.
Honestly not sure. I don’t see why you couldn’t but I can’t confirm that you can. If someone I knew had a 2019/2020 Ridgeline near me I would try it out on their vehicle and let everyone know but as of right now I can’t confirm it.
@@pedrocaraballo5416 I did - it didn't work. i contacted the developer and he was nice enough to refund me and reiterate that it wouldn't work. Bummer because it would be so cool to have!
Yes you can watch in motion. You need to do the distracted driver hack I have on this channel or else you can only touch while not in motion. It does use the phones wifi.
It will work on the 2016 pilot. However the app for RU-vid tv is not available. However you maybe able to download it from the web and use it later??? Not sure but could be worth a try. I don’t have RU-vid tv so not sure about it and it’s features.
@@YuriyMotso thanks! how would i download it from the web? using the web browser from the pilot? and youtube tv is kind of similar to sling tv, just live tv on the go like espn, nick jr, amc, and others
How difficult was it to install? I also have 2016 Pilot, touring. Does it change things on rear entertainment as well? Have you located any cool options that can be unlocked? Super curious, thx
Can’t I just disable the driver distraction setting on the backend and just use apple CarPlay to access apps like RU-vid and Netflix? Shouldn’t that work instead of downloading Honda hack?
You should be able to still run it from the web browser but there are some other features in the honda hack but I personally don't use them. the only one I use is the Netflix app and it works really well.
@@YuriyMotso can’t I download the Netflix app on my iPhone and use the apple CarPlay to access it that way? I just got a 2017 Ridgeline so I’m learning . Your vids are awesome buddy
Mr. Motso! Great Video. QUICK QUESTION!? I'm on the link to buy the Honda Hack. Did you buy the Basic or Pro version? Also my Ridgeline is 2020, do you know if the software still works for newer models?
I bought the pro but in my description I have it mentioned that it currently is only available for models up to 2018. So I do not recommend it for your vehicle at this time unfortunately.
There may be a patch. If I had a newer Ridgeline or someone who wanted to try it I would install mine on their vehicle and try and see if it would work.
I can’t confirm if it will but let’s assume it can. The thing with this set up it’s easy to hide from Honda and you can delete it and revert back to stock if you went to Honda and then install again. So don’t think you would have an issue but I cannot confirm.
Sorry for the late reply. I am not sure I understand what you mean by, "mine is not highlighted". Can you be more specific? I will do my best to help. Also what vehicle model and year do you have?
Hey there, I just purchased the Pro version. Downloaded it to the USB flash, but when scroll down to install the option is grey out. Any idea what could be wrong here?
Did you confirm the model and year that it’s applicable to your vehicle? Unfortunately a few people have made the mistake of buying the program with vehicles out of the supported years. That would be the main thing that I have seen. The information if you can’t find it is in my description for which years and which models are supported. I hope that it’s a supported year that you have and maybe just a reinstallation to the hard drive would clean it up. If not then not really sure.
@@YuriyMotso I just noticed I didn't have the app installed, so I'm doing these steps now: 4- Launch the Browser app from the App List and navigate to autohack.org/clarion. If the Browser app does not exist in the App List, please follow the instructions in this RU-vid video to enabled it. 5-Click the Start button and enter the authorization code. I have entered the auth code, for the last 10 min and the page reads redirecting and nothing is happening (three dots spinning)
I am sorry you are having this issue. Unfortunately if you read my description and when you were downloading the file both locations state that it only works on ridgelines 2017-2018. I don't know why the developer has not made it work for 2019 and up but that is the reason why it's not working. I am sorry you experienced this issue.
