HONDA- How to replace Key Fob Shell Fit for Honda (No Locksmith needed) 

Lo mismo aca! ....creo q si uno intenta hacerlo uno mismo, pues hay mucha probabilidad q si se pueda, y asi evitar molestar a nadie, y por hay, pues uno se siente orgullosa de poder valerse por una misma. Ordenè la caratula plastica, y ahora mirando este video, creo q se me harà menos dificil, o quisaz serà algo aun mas facil de lo pensado...hay veremos...pero lo importante es intentarlo. Fue un alivio saver q solo tenia q renplasar la parte plastica, pues en mi ignorancia pense q tendria q comprar toda la llave y programarla la cual supe q esto me costaria mas de $150, pero bendito Dios 🙏 q un señor en el shop donde llevè mi carro a reparar, me dijo q solo tenia q comprar la caratula/parte plastica👍👌. Agradesco mucho este video tambien. Bendiciones donde sea q te encuentres.

I think the transponder is under the red casing as the fob is different to my one where the transponder sits to the side of it

Is the chip in the circuit board for 2012 Honda Civics?

There is differents key model, some has the chip on the circuit board and some has it apart on the side. If you remove the old chip from the old case and glue it to the new case you should be good to go and start the car.

The key is from 2007 up. Not 2003-2006.

@@Damonhitchens it depend on the car. Honda Civic 2006 and up has the chip on the circuit board not separated by the side.

There is no need to reprogram the transponder chip if you are using the old one. Unless you had a situation that you can explain me and i can help you.

I thought the chip was in the shell that’s what I was worrying about. Because the car won’t start without the being in the shell, and I took off the remote and I put the key back in shell without the remote being in the shell and it started that’s why I thought the chip was in the shell not the remote

Year it won’t work for my 2006 Honda Accord cause the chip is in the shell not on the transponder

I bought a honda civic keyshell off ebay for $7 and having same problem. Its just does not work. It wont even snap together without the key stuff inside. Poorly made and a scam.

That is not the shell in the video. The shell you got they are permanently attached to the case. You would have to have a locksmith to cut the blade and then transfer the electronics. If you need help contact me keyssmartkeysremotes@gmail.com

Hi Kiersten, yes it works for a 2009 Honda Civic. I can also help you. I can mail you a new shell with the key already cutted, when you receive the key all you have to do is to transfer the inside electronic, i can guide you, is very simple. I have the same question. My key did not break out of the little black piece that holds it. How do you get it out???

You got it! Make sure you move the chip to the new case as well if it come separated from the circuit board, it's a little square by the corner. Some of them has the chip on the circuit board so you don't need to move it. If you need help or have a question just shoot me a message.

@@mr.torrestv Just wanted to come back with good news and some words of encouragement for your viewers. My key was exactly like the one in the video, so no separate chip to worry about (chip on this style is embedded in the button box). Hardest part was separating the key portion from the plastic at the fob side. Ended up CAREFULLY using a dremel/rotary tool to liberate the key from its plastic and glue prison. Got nervous when the new plastic anchor didn't seem to fit in the fob before I realized that the anchor has slots on each side to slide into a rail on the Honda logo side of the fob. Snapped into place, screwed in reasonably easily and works like a charm! My dude, you just saved me somewhere between $110 and $320. Keep up the quality work.

He never transferred the chip that was glued inside the other shell which means the vehicle want start. I'm guessing he figured it out after the video.

For that blade, you would have to buy the new shell with a Blank key blade on it and have it cutted by a Dealer or locksmith. I have those shells, i can help you if you want, you can send me your key code and i'll send you the key shell already Cutted, or you can ship the broken key blade to me and i'll duplicate it and send you the new key shell with the blade already cutted.

Noone is lying Sr. I can recommend you to look at the description of the video. It says 2011 Honda Civic Not all the models come with the chip on the side. Only older model like 03-07 accord, 03-08 Pilot come with the chip on the side. 06-13 Civic, 08-12 accord, 09-15 pilot comes with the chip integrated on the circuit board of the remote. Do some research.
