Great video, I just bought a 2010 Honda Insight automatic and on first gear it lugs but the rest of the gears feel normal. Will transmission oil change fix this
I want to buy a 2010 Honda Civic with an automatic transmission that has 119,000 miles from a lady on Facebook. The vehicle is in mint condition and she services the car a lot. Only thing that caught my attention is that the transmission fluid was a darker brownish color but it drives beautiful. Is there a possibility that since it drives normal and it’s that color that it could be a underlying problem? She’s the only owner to the car and she never changed the fluid at all since day 1.

yes there is a filter, it is located outside the transmission and is a small canister looking thing about the size of an apple with rubber lines attached to it on the ends, Just look in the space between the radiator and engine, can't miss it.
There are two types of genuine Honda CVT fluids, one for the first gen CVT and the other(the one you're using) for the second gen CVT. I've read that the CVT gen switch was around 2012 but haven't found exact information. You are using the second gen for a 2011 Insight while Nutz About Boltz used the first gen for the same model. I've been told to be extremely careful about which CVT fluid I use, but I have no idea which one I need.
This is a second generation Insight, the first generation was the futuristic 2 seater cars launched in 1999. Also I spoke to a Honda dealer today and they advised me that the engine should be cold when changing gearbox oil. Hope this helps. Thanks for posting the video.👍🏻
