I am not a mechanic but I started to replace my clutch a couple years ago with a new friend who had replaced a clutch on a different model car once before. We did not have the shop manual. I encountered roadblocks due to some immoveable rust plus we never got back to it plus I really need step by step instructions. So it sat. I set aside time this August to finish finding an electrical issue on my newest Insight and to finally finish this clutch job. I went looking for an online pdf of the shop manual just now and found your video posted just 21 days ago. Phew! Thank you.

Thanks for posting this. I'm going to be removing mine this week. I've got the shop manual that goes over this step by step but it's nice to be able to see someone doing it. I just got a new insight G1 (had one a few years ago but sold it when the syncros went out and I was moving cross country). The new one has a noisy throw out bearing so as I need to remove the trans to get at it I'm putting in a new clutch and pressure plate as well. One thing I haven't decided yet is if I should just go ahead and do the syncro mod while I have the transmission out. It currently isn't grinding but it has 250k miles and almost all of them seem to develop the syncro problem. It actually doesn't look that bad to get out of there. My other project car is a 2010 F250 Diesel. Now that thing is a nightmare to work on! Also it's funny how many Engineers own these cars. I also went to school for Engineering. I sold my last one to an Engineer who later sold it to another Engineer. Great little cars.

I'm in the process of this and have been having trouble re-installing the slave cylinder. I can't for the life of me figure out how to route the hard line back into place. I was kinda able to see how it goes from some of your video so thanks! hope it will help me.

What clutch is everyone using now that the recommended Exedy clutch is NLA?
