honda jazz 2002,2003 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 main drive shaft bearing replacement.
symptom, humming or grinding noise when clutch not pressed (transmission turning along with engine) fades away when clutch is depresed (transmission is disconnected from engine)
grinding sound on idle neutral.
this is sometimes misdiagnosed as release bearing.
Faulty release bearing makes noise when the clutch pedal is depressed.

Curious if the opposite side bearing (thrust bearing) Normal to have up and down play? Right side to side. Coming out of a trans with only 39k miles and no issue. Just installing a LSD and changing the input shaft bearing and seal just because. I figure I want to change the seal so I don’t mind.
