Good video BUT remember to prop wheel hub with jack or blocks **dont let the wheel hub drop to much or it will come out of position and you will struggle to get drive train shaft back in place, you have to lift and manually rotate shaft to get correct into place. I made this mistake**
The Jazz is quite easy to work on yes, all quite conventional and well laid out. Rust really the only thing that can cause hassle under them. Having said that, i don't do this full time so perhaps have a bit more patience than a full time mechanic. I would happily have a Modus or C4 and wouldn't consider either of those any harder to work on than the Jazz.
👍 Great tutorial. Pity about the buried position of the top mount compared to the earlier Jazz. It's a magnet for road salt, leading to heavy corrosion and an inevitable MOT fail.
Hi there thanks for the comment. It is a bit of a hassle, although a good big ignorant dollop of grease over the nut when installing it, or some denso tape if you want to be fancy can prevent it from reoccurring. At least if the shock is coming off for a replacement the old nut can be cut away. Both these and the earlier one are good cars, but like most japanese cars rust protection in general was not great.
Hi, quite possibly some washer or spacer associated with the shock absorber assembly has been missed out? Have a look at catcar.info for the diagrams associated with the jazz shock absorber. Something missing on the assembly is what springs to mind first.
Hi there, Good to hear from a french viewer, funny though your not in something french, as you can probably tell i have a bit of a penchant for the cars from your country haha. The ABS system on the Jazz is quite simple. You will still need a fault code reader if you have a light on. This particular car i have had no ABS issues to make a video with.
You can judge the shock on the other side and make a judgement call. Ideally its best to do both because the other side will be just as old. However the car owner may not want to do both then and there at the time. It would still be safe to drive and will pass an mot with no issues.
The xantia no, kept the XUD engine and box as they are always useful to have. A lad came one day and took everything else off it. Still think the seats might be sitting about.
