Held him up where? He was already pushing the grip limits through some turns where as the GT3 RS had so much more to give since that track is too small for that car and it still was coming out of the turns way faster and putting cargo ship lenghts on him on the straights. It was a good chase but the miata was never held up.

Seems like a well thought out, quality budget track build with the Xida coilovers, K24 swap, Wilwood BBK and 71R's. Not a fan of the exhaust note, but overall nicely done!

Almost lighter than my AE92 GTS FWD..i got it down to 2180 but thats with me in it i weigh about 185 so without me in it the car is under 2000lbs and i have a 3sgte swap in it... only makes about 350-380 hp depending on boost.. its a rocket though... I have had to put several transmissions in it though no drag racing for sure it breaks too easy

Also the Miata has almost 0 sound deadening and any that it did have he probably scrapped for weight savings, Miatas are inherently obnoxious, shaky and loud

I think I would prefer to see their continued work on the k-swapped 240. Particularly because of all the custom work they have put into that car.

@@erikmiles5536 we planned to get some episodes out on the K240 this summer but the custom oil pan took longer than anticipated. But we do have an episode on the pan and on a new big brake kit for that car in the works and we're contemplating an all-motor build for it next year.

@John Mitchell it absolutely will, you can get a k24a2 out of a tsx or accord for under $600 and if you go onto the honda forums they practically give that shit way. ive seen everything from k24-k20 for $500 or less.

Tommyfyeah on youtube k-swapped his miata and it was like $25,000. He had a getrag 6 speed from a BMW though with a Solstice differential and I don’t remember what axles. Maybe just modified solstice axles.

K makes everything better. Hey Honda make a 400hp NA 3.6 I6 version of K for next S2000 & crush all. “S3600” haha Use off the shelf K part number pistons & rods and same block & head design +2 cylinders. Boom done.

There’s a company called MiniTec that makes a J-swap kit for significantly less $$$ than the K-swap. You guys have to sample one of those too before you go K24!

I had that kit in my 92 NA. Amazing amount of power. It dynoed at approx 260whp, but the generation i had had an issue with the oil pan sitting wayyy too low (it was about 2" off the ground,) and the design of the pan led to a lot of owners with cracks near the welds. if i had the chance to start over, i'd probably go with the k miata swap, its a more refined product, but thats just me.

For track use def k24 over j series. Lighter motor even lighter then the orignal bp motor. Would have a better handling balance

Should've ran the intake to driver's side front lower and boxed off the filter from the engine bay and have a proper cold air setup. The exhaust sounds horrible. Needs 3" stainless steel piping, a pair of Vibrant ultra quiet resonators #1142, and a Vibrant street power oval muffler #1107. It'll flow significantly better and sound exponentially better. Obviously it's a work in progress and has lots of dialing in to do. Cool build so far though.
