I did the same as you. Test rode it twice and put a deposit down straight away. Absolutely fell in love with it. Mines in the matte jeans blue and I've opted for all the accessory packs!! 😁 Cannot wait - pick it up in a week ❤

Good morning. I hope you still enjoy your NC 750 X DCT. I love your videos. Thank you much for them. I'm personally exited because tomorrow I get my new (used) NC 750 S DCT. Like you say, one time DCT - never without. About "only" 55 / 59 HP - I don't care. Fast enough. In my age , 68, the wild times from my youth are over. The last 20 year I had some 300 to 500 ccm Scooters because I only want to drive, nothing more. So now I say after experience of some friends with DCT - bye-bye Variomatic - Hello DCT. And, only to say, one 750 X DCT of a friend now by 165.000 km without any mechanical problem. The other now by 88.000 km and the same - no problems. Okay, that's what I want to say... Greetings from Germany, Bavaria, Allgäu

Oh, good to hear. I was there in 1984, former Jugoslavia, from Trieste ( Italy) down the coastline to Dubrovnik and back with my BMW R 80 RT. Very nice if you have the correct weather. I had to stop that time 2 days because of the BoraBora (strong wind / storm). Before you reach the city of Zadar there is one big bridge over the Adria. Not possible to cross the bridge, police locked. What to do? No problem, I stand there in Company with 2 bikers from GB (1 from Scotland, 1 from England). There was right before the bridge a small restaurant. The next hours a lot of bikers stopped there and at the end I stayed there for 2 days and nights until the storm has finished. After this time: Beer in the restaurant was finished, food finished....But we all had a good time.,.😊. So I wish you a good time for your trip - enjoy! 🙏@@Crohniebiker

@@Crohniebiker Never buy a machine on the specs on paper but do an extensive test ride. I had one for a small week during repair/maintenance of my previous bike. It's a torque machine, it pull good and it sips benzine. I had it round 3l/100Km mixed usage. The bike complete wit panniers and larger screen, and some options... it is near as expensive as the new NT1100... Which I test rode also, the DCT of the 750 is way better than that from the NT1100... My previous bike was a Deauville NT700 and now an R1200GS LC, also a fantastic machine and had a good price with low mileage ;-)

I did almost exactly the same, wanted to test ride the standard NC, dealer only had a DCT... loved it. Couple of weeks later found and paid deposit on a 9 month old NC DCT, rode from Sheffield to Edinburgh on my 20 plate CB500X, and came home on my black 72 plate NC. Mine had most of the toys fitted, so heated grips, high screen, centre stand, foot wind deflectors (!!!), fog lights. I 3d printed some mounts to change a clip on wind deflector into a fixed one (did same on CB) which makes a massive difference, Givi Hand Guards, Puig hugger also now fitted. It had the Honda usb C in the frunk which was not really suitable so used the supply that did feed it to feed a double USB socket and camera system that I fitted in the frunk, the USB is facing down in the tool alcove which is much more useful and means you don't have a cable sticking straight out in to the frunk

They are fantastic bikes. Sold mine and had instant regret, still do. That "Frunk" is genius and only really appreciated once it's gone. Virtually all the maintenance is doable by anyone with a decent Halfords tool kit and riding it is so relaxing with a really nice grown up purr to the engine as it rolls by. I have a Gs now but will not hear a word against the NC. Enjoy!

Bought mine just two weeks ago, after 6 happy years owning a cb500x. I added taller windscreen and extensor, engine guards, hand guards and center stand. Mine is the mate blue color. With only 850 km on it I'm loving it! Easy handling, good fuel consumption (3,8 liters/100 km) and the DCT is absolutely flawless. Never used sport mode. I will after 1000 km. Great commuter and highway bike. Couldn't be more happy with it. Love when I arrive at garage in the morning and start the engine... 🙂 Thanks for the nice video. Congrats from Portugal 🙂👍🇵🇹

Hello may you give us any feedback between cb500x and nc750x. I am in similar situation. I have cb500x and I have already done 70000 km. I think it’s time for new toy and i am consider if it’s really upgrade or it’s ok to keep my cb500x for more. Thank you

@sabeillard 6 дней назад
@@arismous8586 I can give you my opinion. As I told in a previous comment, I owned a CB500X for 6 years, then I thought it was time for an upgrade, like you. As a Honda lover, the obvious one for me was the NC750X DCT. Now, after 6000 kms, I know for sure it was the smartest choice. This is my opinion, of course. I'm very happy with it, my lowest consumption was 3,4 liters per 100 kms on country roads. I'm not looking for top speeds or rocket accelerations. I was looking for a reliable, nice commuter, long trip capable, bullet proof motorcycle. NC750X DCT is that bike in my opinion. And although I loved my CB500X, this NC is far away superior. So, if you are looking for an upgrade, and the NC750X is in your radar, I can only advice to go for it.

Agree completely that for most of us mere mortals (without huge YT followings), an hour or two is the most we can expect to get from a dealership when you want to test ride a potential new bike. It's ridiculous that manufacturers don't include at least the center stand as standard equipment on all road legal motorcycles that are chain drive. When I rode back in the 80's all the chain drive Japanese road bikes came stock from the factory with a center stand, even sport bikes like the Ninja and Hurricane. Nice choice! Everything about the NC750X (and XADV) works so harmoniously well. The 750 engine with the DCT is so perfectly matched. I recently graduated up to the NT1100 with DCT but the 750 versions (I had XADV) just seem to work like the proverbial "Swiss clock". I'm happy with with my NT but fondly miss the platform of the NC750X / XADV. Honda (in US terminology) has hit a home run. Enjoy it. You now have the best overall bike in motorcycling.

I bought a new one in February this year (same colour as yours). Brilliant bike and the DCT is sublime. I feared that i might miss the extra power, but it's not been the case. This bike doesn't look very powerful on paper but the way it delivers it you'd never know. I added, heated grips, centre stand and the rear rack and 52ltr top box, all of which have been invaluable. I also added the crash bars and fog lights, which, in my opinion, as well as being useful, improve the looks of the bike no end. Finally, i went for the higher screen. I can't really comment on whether it's an improvement, as i haven't tried it with the lower one, but i don't seem to get much buffeting. Steady use gives 80+mpg, ridden hard in sport mode about 75mpg. 200 miles from a tank is easy. Small niggles... no fuel range on the dash and the dash itself looks a bit dated but otherwise its great. Enjoy your bike!

Mechanical sympathy is something nobody should have. I recently took my sv650 to Cadwell Park and it suffered 140 minutes of tracktime between 7-11k. The bikes can take it. On the road I'm rarely full on it for more than about 30s at a time, certainly nowhere near abuse it got in the 20 minute track sessions.

Purchased mine last year (same colour but non DCT) first purchases, bar risers, screen protector, rad protector. The list of everything else would take too long over the last 12 months. Pyramid plastics supply most things that your dealer can, but at a lot lower cost. I’ve saved £1,000 plus on racks, crash bars, screens, main stand. On a long ride I’m finding the rear spring a bit basic, so that’s on the list to complete what is a brilliant bike. I’ve had a DCT on a VFR 1200 and enjoyed it, my only criticism is the extra weight and low speed U turns if you have a bit of whiskey throttle, you’ve no clutch to kill the power to the wheels. Enjoy the ride, it’s a great bike.

Use the rear brake to hold the bike back, lifting the brake is more reliable and faster than trying to feather the clutch. This applies to any bike, DCT or manual.

Just bought a 2019 NC750X DCT from CMC in Clay Cross. It came with SHAD top box and panniers. The SHAD brackets are less obvious than the OEM Honda ones when riding without panniers I was seriously thinking about buying a CB500X. Had considered the NC previously but was put off about having to remove the tail bag when touring to get to the tank. However, with worsening arthritis in my hands particularly my left it made me take another look. For long motorway/dual carriageway journeys I use an Atlas throttle lock (actually it’s a Chinese knock off) and am about to fit some highway pegs. I know CB500 owners change the final drive sprocket to reduce revs, but the NC is so relaxed that in the end this bike was a no brainer. Only had it 3 weeks and I’ve already done 900 miles touring Cornwall A pal was so impressed he went out and bought one too I’ve just Subscribed to your channel. I follow Birchwood Biker too

Just saw your video - and Love it. I also did the same as you, upgrading from the cb500x to nc750x, which I did approx a year ago. I haven't done a huge amount on it as I have an electric bike for my commute. I have done 2 up with my light daughter to Gisborne from Auckland which is 500km each way. And the frunk + pack rack on the back held everything we needed for a few days away staying with family. I also love the low revving engine and the great power delivery. I have owned a Honda VFR800 previously, and that had heaps more power, but I don't miss the power as the usable power of the nc750 is where I can use it, where with the vfr800, if I was in 3rd or higher, I couldn't use the full power as I would be going too fast, and the po po don't like that much. Hope you are enjoying the new bike.. Fran.

Such a useful and well-mannered 750, and the DCT really helps you relax and ride. My first bike in 3 decades and so glad I got it. Makes doing the grocery shopping a lot of fun. That frunk fits a lot of cargo. Not sure what your height is. I'm 6'3" and the stock screen works pretty well for me. Wind stops at my neck, head is in clean air. I get about 80 miles / US gallon on mine. Get a ratchet strap ready for installing that center stand. I did a video on putting a thunderbox in so you can hook up later electricals more easily.

@@Crohniebiker yeah, I did centerstand first -- mine was only tough b/c I got the spring on wrong first go. USB points, I got a port on Amazon that had a high power C output (can charge computer, drone, etc.) along with 2 usb outputs. I mounted mine in the frunk front plate rather than putting a hole in the frunk itself (plate is cheap and easy to replace). I also got a USB point for the handlebars or dash, but I decided not to install it. Lot simpler to just run the cord from the frunk out. That big fat rubber seal keeps things tidy enough. one thing I like on the 500 is that accessory mount above the instrument panel. The aftermarket bars for that for the NC seem flimsy (I've got one, but it doesn't fit well, so haven't taken the time to adjust and install it yet).

I bought a 2014 manual version a few months ago. Even though I obtained my motorcycle license in 1976 this is the first machine purchased for highway use. I've had motorcross, enduro, sport, scooter and minimoto machines none of which spent much time on the highway. The NC purchase was so I could figure what highway travel means for me and what machine will fulfill my requirements. Here on the Canadian Prairies, highway travel means straight flat roads without much traffic where speed limits of 100 or 110 kph are vigorously enforced. So far the NC is working quite nicely. Next summer I'll be doing some longer highway trips and sorting out some of the comfort issues such as my rear end getting sore from a two hour ride and a general feeling that the windscreen could be better. Cruise control would be nice but the motorcycle industry has generally done a pretty crappy job providing that feature.

I had a ride out on one after going for a test ride on the Africa twin 1100 dct. Loved the gearbox, not so keen on the 1100 engine which I thought was a bit gruff compared to the Suzuki v Strom 1050 I had at the time, it was a Swiss watch compared to the Honda, sorry Africa Twin owners. Anyway, when I got back from the test ride, the salesman asked me what I thought, I told him just what I’ve explained there and he asked if I had ever ridden the nc750x. I hadn’t, so gave it a go, though it was a manual one, and to my surprise, I loved it. I didn’t buy one, instead I bought another Suzuki, this time a v Strom 650, another underrated bike. I love the Suzuki but if truth be told the Honda nc750x is the better choice. Enjoy 👍

I had a 2017 NC750X and did 18,000 miles in 14 months on it. Toured all over the UK and Europe. Fat bloke 80 litres of luggage and never returned less than 75mpg. I really regret selling it😢 The trunk brilliant idea wasn't so much of a fan of the under seat tank okay with panniers but a pain with throw over bags. My only criticism was the saddle was the most uncomfortable saddle I've ever sat on. Mate I did the same, I had the CB500X I didn't like the high revs I fitted a larger sprocket on the front to gear it up. I still wasn't happy so I sold it and bought an NC750X. The NC750x has half a Honda Jazz car engine hence the low torque and revs. I fitted an IXIL L3X Silencer (it has the twin pipes) to give a better sound. I also fitted a puig windshield. My bike is a 2020 model the last year they were for sale in Australia. It has such a low centre of gravity which makes it so easy to handle. The only problem I can see you will have is that you will have to by another one as your wife won't want to keep riding her CB500X.

The undisputed NC750 windscreen champion for best wind coverage goes to the Madstad windscreen, but it's 2x the price 🤑of other screens and subjectively it's just plain Fugly. It has lots of other benefits (crossbar to mount stuff on, adjustable for tilt, lower winglets for wind deflection for hands, multiple heights and tint levels available), but unless you NEED the wind protection for extensive touring or long year-round commuting, I suggest looking at Givi and Puig. The Givi D1192S (sport) and D1192ST (sport touring) are what I've narrowed it down to. The Givi touring (clear only) and Puig touring (clear or tinted) are both about the same height (54mm), but the Givi is 10mm wider at the bottom (43mm vs. 33mm) before tapering up. The Givi sport (light tint only) is about the same height as the Honda Tall Screen, but again wider at 43mm. It's purely subjective for each individual, but I also like the looks/shape of the Givi windscreens better. YMMV @@Crohniebiker

I'm 8Ft 8 it works great for me. Good luck with it.I bought 22 plate dct and sold within 3 months. I think I just like gearboxes on motorcycles though I do have belt drive scooter. It’s main criticism some say is lack of power. That’s certainly not the case. I couldn’t fault mine except the dct.I did some mountain hairpins and the gearbox got very muddled. I had to use the paddles. That did it for me. Also I do like to red line it sometimes. Everything else on the bike was great though the suspension is very budget imo. Mossey on here thought the same, the last person I would expect to see on a dct. Seeing this it’s a lovely bike but am still glad I’d sold mine. Unfortunately, you have highlighted a problem that is endemic to motorcycling, which is that not having access to a decent demo ride and then realising - after purchase- a bikes shortcomings can cost us a lot of money.. I chose to dramatically alter the seat/Bar/foot pegs and wind protection of my Ducati Scrambler rather than change to a different machine but buyer's take note that your brain will choose to think that everything about a bike that you do not know about due to a limited demo ride, will be perfect BECAUSE you like the look of a bike only to find out the very real shortcomings throughout early ownership. Pride of ownership only gel's when you either but the exact-perfect bike for you following an informed choice, or you make improvements that make a bike perfect by improving its ergonomics to suit you !! Hi. Literally hoping to buy either the nc750x dct or your previous cb500x. Would jyou go back to the cb without the trunk space and wind protection? Also as a mature new rider which bike out of these would you recommend? Lastly, like the look of the kawasaki z650 rs. Any views on that bike? Appreciate any comments

Well that's a good question 🤔. I only changed my cb500x because it was so similar to my ADV350 in terms of performance, The 500x is a totally fantastic bike that's easy to handle, Also there's a massive aftermarket network for bits and bobs you may want to add onto it. The 750x is not so good on light trails as the 500x but it feels almost as light due to the very low centre of gravity. The 750x is a lot better at motorway speeds tho and this is the main reason I changed. I like to go abroad and do longer trips on this bike. They're both great bikes but remember, the 500x is a few grand cheaper which makes it a great bike overall. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 👍

Thanks cronies. Did you find the weather protection good on the cb and as a beginner do you think I'm better off with the dct on the 750 or the manual 500x. I suppose the frunk on nc isn't worth the 2k difference between the 2 bikes? Thanks again

@carltongayle5461 if you're a beginner I'd highly recommend the cb500x it's such a friendly easy bike to ride and it can literally do everything you want. Good luck 👍

Why did Honda not give it a cruse control that would be a good upgrade

Probably because its a tourer and will probably spend a lot of time on the motorway . Its a really good feature , I wish mine had it. thanks for watching

The NC isn't too bad ,it feels like a V twin with all the torque down low. Thanks for watching 👍

How tall are you? I’m 6’4” and considering buying this.

I'm 6'1" with a 34" inside leg. If I'm honest it's borderline. I manage ok with it but I wish it was a bit taller. I'd definitely go test ride one first . It's a brilliant bike 👌

@@Crohniebiker test riding one in a week or so. If I do enough I may buy. But will replace with a taller seat and possibly lowered pegs.

What happened to your adv 350 ?
@Crohniebiker
@Crohniebiker 9 месяцев назад
I've still got my ADV and I still love it ,I bought that to replace my ageing burgman 400 as my work and back bike . The NC is the bike I will be using for long trips abroad and in the UK once I get my luggage on it .both brilliant bikes tho. Thanks for watching 👍

Would you recommend the adv 350?
@Crohniebiker
@Crohniebiker 9 месяцев назад
@user-me6hs7dw5z I would absolutely recommend the 350ADV It's also a brilliant bike. In fact if I could get side panniers for it ,its all the bike your going to need, the performance is much like the cb500x but the ADVis smoother.

you are going to miss the low mpg and light handling, you will soon be in the same position in 12 months time looking for a 1,000 cc.
@Crohniebiker
@Crohniebiker 9 месяцев назад
You're not the first person to say that I'm going to miss the power in 12 months, maybe who knows? as for the mpg its not quite as good as the cb500x but its still pretty good , I was getting 84mpg the first weekend i did 550 miles so I'm happy with that. surprisingly for saying its about 25kg heavier than my old 500x you cant tell when you're pushing it around the garage due to the very low weight distribution. Anyway thanks for you're comments and for watching
