Same procedure for most Hondas. This is the easiest way to do a coolant drain and fill. You won't have to remove the reservoir tank to drain the coolant from it.

This was a very helpful video. I just did mine and it went exactly to plan. I wanted to try doing it without jacking up the car which made the finding the petcock valve the hardest part. I took out just a shade under one gallon and it took just over a gallon to refill the radiator and reservoir. That spill-free funnel was great and the syringe idea made emptying the reservoir a breeze. I think I pulled about 700mL out in total....maybe more. The adapter on the funnel took a little work to fully seat, but once on, I didn't spill a drop. Thank you for keeping this short and to the point.

I love your video it was very easy to understand the steps. The only thing is that you don't need to use the manufacturer's coolant. That's what all manufacturers say when it comes to their cars. As long its the right color coolant you can use a third party like Peak
@MrRangerZr1

For the Hondas, use OEM fluid all around. Honda is like the only company that is picky of it's fluids.

Just one question....what would we do without your advice n knowledge?ive watched your videos n thats how i changed the injectors,valve cover gaskets exhaust gaskets replaced a bad spark plug with the rubber connector attached to the spark plug n i pulled it out with one of my old tattoo needles because no screw driver or knives were able to fit since the spark plug was right on center in the back area n there is limited space to work on but finally i was able to stab the rubberish material n pulled it out to find oil in there i cleaned that i replace spark plug round gaskets n cleaned every connectors i disconnected n my wife was able to change oil and oil filter n reinstalling serpentine belt all by herself...all i can say is: thanks to your knowledge my wife's van its back on the road n shes a happy wife much appreciation to you now I'm fixing to flush coolant n get this 2011 oddyssey on optimal conditions all thanks to you

My petcock valve is flush against the framing underneath it. Yours in this video is protruding with plenty of clearance to turn. How delicate is that valve, if I pry the bottom of the radiator up a little to gets some clearance?

One question I have is the car comes up to opp temp but my fans don’t come on unless a/c is on. As far as I can tell, everything else seems good. Any insight with the fans?
@MrRangerZr1
@MrRangerZr1 2 года назад
That's how it is, the fans are ECU controlled. When the coolant reaches somewhere around 200F with the ac off, the fans will kick on. A/C on, the fans will be on most of the time.

Thank you so much for all your great videos. I just finished my first coolant flush on my 2010 Honda Odyssey EXL. I was able to do everything except for getting the radiator fans ON; no matter how much I tried, the radiator fan did not turn ON even after 30 mins with AC heat turned ON at the MAX setting. The coolant was getting hot in the funnel after 30 mins; I had to turn off the engine, fill the reservoir tank close to the MAX level as I could not get the AC ON. Any advice would be great...TIA.
@MrRangerZr1
@MrRangerZr1 2 года назад
It can take a while but if the heater is nice and hot and you checked the coolant level afterwards and it's good, you should be fine.

@@MrRangerZr1 Thank you for your reply. Appreciate it. I noticed that after the transmission fluid drain & flush the car drives really smooth and performance has improved significantly. The old transmission fluid was dark, a bit viscous and had a significant burnt smell. Planning to do the 3X drain & flush with 200 miles in between. Thanks

I've looked at a half-dozen videos about draining the Honda Odyssey (mine is a 2007) and when I look under my car - it looks different than all the others. Even all the videos that claim to be for the 2005 - 2017 look different underneath. Am I supposed to remove all the plastic shielding before being able to find the white screw in stopper or the screw in bolt? I've crawled all over and just cannot find that damn white plug.
@MrRangerZr1
@MrRangerZr1 11 месяцев назад
Look again. It's there.
@STBRetired1
@STBRetired1 11 месяцев назад
I finally found it. I had to raise my head up higher. Now the problem is that I can only see the top third of the white screw-in plug. All that plastic splash shielding keeps me from getting my head up higher or getting my hand to the plug. I can see one "fin" on the plug and can get long-nose pliers on it but I'm afraid to twist it too hard for breaking the fin off. In the Spring, I'll have to remove all that splash shielding to get access to the drain plug. Then, I'll drain both plugs and put in all new antifreeze.

How coolant drains out of the radiator?
@MrRangerZr1
@MrRangerZr1 5 лет назад
Gravity.
@johndix1820
@johndix1820 4 года назад
Take a screenshot about 20-21 seconds into video. It right edge of screen shows the radiator drain valve/plug. After placing a tub to catch the old fluid, unscrew the plug 2-3 turns until fluid starts to drain. Does not have to drain quickly just start flowing. Then remove radiator cap to increase flow speed. Gravity makes drainage possible so screw in the drain valve before filling from radiator cap.
