Best way to do it is get a 17mm socket and impact gun and tight it at full speed that will break the bolt because is rusted easy piece none of that stuff ur doing it will come right off because it breaks off
The second jack tip is on point, & makes the video worth watching. I'm changing the whole strut on old girl, I pre-install the upper end of the link on the strut body & torque spec it on the bench.
Thanks for the tips. I have to do them on my 2015 and they are pretty rusty. Tried holding the upper one with an Allen wrench and bracing it against the strut, but it walked out. Next up is Vise Grips, and if that doesn't work, I just picked up a 3" cutoff tool from Harbor Freight. Was surprised the whole thing wasn't turning with the impact wrench, but since I have an air impact, maybe I'll try that before cutting it off.

I stripped the top nut. I probably should have used a sided instead of a multi sided socket. So I used a dremel to cut the nut in 2, but it still won't come out. Any ideas?

I had pretty much the same issue. I had to use a Sawzall to actually cut the sway arm in half to give more range and clearance to work. Then, I cut the bolt as close to the sway arm as possible. In one case the bolt just came out. In the other case I had to grind the nut/bolt flush to the sway arm and then poke it through the sway arm using a screwdriver. May not be the best way or most efficient way but it worked...eventually.
Man im.doing this now but I can not get the bottom nut to break free... I've hit it pb blaster & been hitting it with a torch and still not breaking free
@John Wiechel you may have to grip the nut side with a vice grip and cut it off with a reciprocating saw or grinder. Thanks for watching please Like and Subscribe if you haven't already
