Thanks to this video I went into the job fully prepared for a stuck link. An air cutoff tool was my solution to the stripped hex/spinning bolt/stuck link problem. Keep up the good work!
I just did this job on my pilot, but when I did it, I had to put some load on the wheel in order to line up the linkage with the sway bar, as it popped upwards after I removed the link. Is this normal? Maybe its because it wasn't on perfectly level ground?
Great video, thank you. The same thing happened to me when replacing stabilizer bar on front. I could not get it off to save my life and It was getting dark. I ended up cutting bolt off. It was a bear.
How do I know when those need replaced? I have slight extra noise, as if something was slightly loose on the rear axle, when going over small bumps quickly. I've been under the car more than once and cant see anything loose. It's a 2012 Pilot.
I noticed the coil spring has a crack along the top. It looks like there is a seam ripped. Does the spring need replacing or is that just the outer plastic coding over the coil spring?
+BIG APPLE You may be able to apply the basic steps shown here to your vehicle. Hope this has helped you out. We carry replacement sway bar links for many different year make and model vehicles on our website. Here is a link to them, hope this helps you out goo.gl/Gb9MCH
