Great review. I plan on adding the back up light soon (but need to get the switch), as well as the plug n play turn signals. I'll also need to add brake lights up high since I'm getting a rack for my tire/gas can which will partially block the back lights. I'll need to figure that out since I'm not electrically inclined. Thanks for sharing your upgrades.

Your planned additions are exactly what I want to do! Let me know how they turn out. I appreciate the feedback!

Great video series. They were very helpful, especially your white board with the wiring diagrams. I put speakers with lights on the sides where the foot wells are. I found by removing the cup holders, I could fish wires from the foot wells below, as well as forward into the hood area. Cheers from Canada.

Thanks for the feedback. Awesome idea removing the cup holders to fish wires to the hood area and foot wells!! Clever Canadians!

Great review. I saw a glass windshield which closed off the front completely with doors and a back window. The cab was completely enclosed. They then added a heater which made the SxS winter ready.

Thank you! Funny you should mention the cab and heater. I am about 2 weeks away from releasing my full cab enclosure video, and the heater is on order and I will be doing a video on that as well. I also have a winch video I am working on. So stay tuned!

Cool beans 🙃 looks like a pain in the ass I think I'll let the guys at honda do most of that when I get mine. Good video is very informative. Thank you

Thanks Brendan - if you let the dealer do it, they will probably take short cuts - make sure they do an aux battery and isolator - don’t let them talk you into just using the main battery. This project isn’t for everyone - but it’s very satisfying and you would learn a lot I promise!

I have not actually needed the front light bar yet myself, but I REALLY like having the rear lights. They have been the surprise best thing. Thank you for the feedback.

Hi Bob, great videos, thanks for sharing. Did you cut the wires and re-splice on the footwell lights during the routing of the wires?
@rsparre
@rsparre 2 года назад
Hey captain will - thank you! Yes I did do some cutting - mainly to get through the dash and again to splice in an extension to reach the rear since I went under the vehicle. I think I briefly mention these splice points in the video. Good luck!

Good evening , Bob. I have a question from the parts list on the previous video re: the Tru battery isolator. The S x S Club has two TruAM Battery Isolators. Which one do you prefer and what is the difference other than the fact that one is 30 pesos more than the Other.
@rsparre
@rsparre 3 года назад
So sorry Frank - looks like I did not put a link to the isolator in my parts list even in the first video. I know there are several options. I got the one that has EVERYTHING you need, including the dual voltmeter and relay. It is about $120. The other kit does not appear to have the voltmeter or relay. So get this one. Love what you've done but may I suggest you clean your lens on your smartphone so it doesn't look like a foggy day.
@rsparre
@rsparre 2 года назад
Lol - you are right - that was a fail. My daughter gave me no end of grief for that. Turns out the plastic lens cover from the phone case was the issue. I removed it and all better now.

I had already purchased the cheaper version w/o the voltmeter and secondary relay. I really don’t have room in my current rocker switch panel for another meter. Do you feel the relay is really necessary or is it predominately for the meter?
@rsparre
@rsparre 3 года назад
Hey Frank - That is a good question. I believe the answer is that the relay is only for the meter, and is used in an unconventional way in that, instead of being used for a "low current switch circuit which triggers a higher current accessory", it (the relay) uses the negative side to trigger the voltmeter when accessory power is applied. Normally, the positive side of an accessory is NOT tied directly to the battery like the voltmeter is. So we need a way to keep the voltmeter OFF unless the accessory circuit is ON - otherwise it would be on all the time. I would imagine there are other ways to do it. Honestly, I'm not clear on why you can't just eliminate the relay and tie the neg side of the meter directly to the fusebox since it is not energized until acc is ON. So probably need to ask someone smarter than me....

Thanks Bob, That is my thought exactly as we already have the Stinger in Place. Since I have opened this can of worms, can you advise a link to where you purchased your original dual voltmeter . I’m going to buy just the voltmeter and we’ll find out!! I also took the advice of a few more lead on the wiring and completely removed the air intake system and replace it with a radiator hose stuffed with the original air intake filter.
@rsparre
@rsparre 3 года назад
Frank, sorry for delayed reply, your post didn't show in my comments list on my dashboard until today for some reason. The original dual voltmeter I bought was from Amazon, which I didn't need because the isolator kit came with one. Here is the one I bought that I didn't need: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0721PQCKD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Any ETA on the winch install? I am not installing my winch until I see you do it first :)
@rsparre
@rsparre 3 года назад
So sorry for the delay!! I am 85% ready with the winch video. I think it's going to be a good one - having a lot of fun with it. I have a few more short video clips to shoot, then just have to stitch it all together. I will be away for 10 days for my daughter's wedding in Florida, but as soon as I get back I will finish it up I promise! I would say should be ready within 3 weeks. I apologize for the suspense - lol. Hope you are ok with the wait!
@Ludehrt92
@Ludehrt92 3 года назад
Which mount/winch did you choose to go with?
@rsparre
@rsparre 3 года назад
@@Ludehrt92 I got the Viper Elite 6000 widespool with synthetic line and the mount for the P1K both from the HondaSxS club store. The 4500 would probably have been ok - but you’ll see in the video why I decided to bump it up. I am VERY pleased with the install and the results - and I ended up adding a couple of shackles and mounts on either side to enable a double line pull that really look great.

Question for you Sir, Did you have problems with the windshield that you used hitting the OEM roof when it’s fully opened? I love that style of windshield, but it says it won’t work with the OEM roof? It looks like you had no problems! Can you comment on that Sir, I really would like your opinion on the windshield you used, love your video, definitely makes me want to go with that windshield option, instead of the OEM windshield, OEM windshield only opens up a little over 7“! The windshield you use opens up all the way and or fully closed or cracked open with the mechanism bracket, please advise
@rsparre
@rsparre Год назад
Thanks for the feedback - so fun! I had no trouble at all with that windshield and the OEM roof. I don’t recall any mention of it supposedly not working - so I guess that is incorrect information. There were no issues that I had to work around to make it work with the OEM roof. This windshield is definitely a great option due to the flexibility of opening positions. I have not had any issues with it at all. One word of caution - be sure it is in the closed position when trailering the beast so the wind is not lifting up on it. Good luck!
@pastorpastor1239
@pastorpastor1239 Год назад
Thank you so much for your quick reply and response, yeah if you read the fine on Amazon page, it does say it won't fit with OEM roof, I've been looking at this windshield for about 3 weeks now, found your RU-vid video and then finally read the reviews on Amazon and there's like two people saying just like you Sir! It fits just fine and some have a couple little modifications? Which is fine! That's the fun part of it! Some Times! Thanks so much, I pick up my new 2022 Pioneer 1000-5 Forest on Wednesday! We can't wait!
@pastorpastor1239
@pastorpastor1239 Год назад
Had another question for you Sir, I’m looking for a rear bumper the Pioneer Forest, it comes with a front bumper and winch, but no rear bumper! Do you have any suggestions? I’m thinking the one that bolts to the frame might be a little better than the one that bolts to the bed? like to get your opinion on that Sir!
@rsparre
@rsparre Год назад
@@pastorpastor1239 I have no experience with adding bumpers - but I would agree the frame would be more robust than the bed. Depends on what kind of impact you anticipate. If it’s just a warning bump for backing up, the bed might be enough. It’s not like we are going down a highway at 50-50 mph. I might go for ease of installation over ability to survive a full speed impact.
@pastorpastor1239
@pastorpastor1239 Год назад
@@rsparre thanks for All your help with everything! I ended up ordering the bumper that hooks to the frame and the lower part of the frame and it has 2 shackles for hooking up for either getting pulled out or helping someone get pulled out! I pick up the new Pioneer on Wednesday, hopefully the bumper comes in on Thursday, hope to get it all put together with the new bumpers, windshield and other Parts through next weekend, I'm going to check out your auxiliary battery setup video next, that will be the very first project once I get everything else installed, I'm excited to pick up the new pioneer Forest 1000-5 on Wednesday! 😀

Looks likes your lense needs cleaning. The video looks fuzzy. Other than that, great walkthrough.

Lol - yeah my daughter gave me a ton of grief about the dirty/fuzzy. She took my phone and pulled off the case that had a scratched up lens cover and handed back the phone in classic rolling eyes disgust. All fixed now. Too late for the video - haha.
