I was a huge Nissan Z guy, had multiple Z's throughout the years....drove my friends 275 whp k24 and I was hooked. Something about Honda engines that grab you and once they do, your in for life.
lmao same I owned a nice 300zx twin turbo, realized making power was a nightmare. Sold it now building Hondas. Cheaper, more fun, easy to make power, and reliable when done right.
I swapped a k series into a vw bug 6 years ago. To the best of my knowledge no one else has ever done a k series bug. This is the only other k series swap in a rear engine vehicle I've seen. It's nice to see.
@@calebpotter3055 There was a Chevy engine in the car when he got it. He mentioned at the beginning. Buying a Porsche engine entirely is quite a bit more than a rebuild plus you would most likely want to get it rebuilt since the engine is out. This was a cheap way to get into a porsche for this guy whole building it with stuff he knows. Won't sound as good as the original Porsche engines in my opinion but it's still pretty cool and will be cheap to rebuild.
Aircooled 911’s are not reliable. Anyone that tells you they are either has too much money and doesn’t know or has ED and never drivers their 911. Honda engine in a Porsche is genius.
Small block chevy to a K20.... I love this. Fucking awesome. WHY the K series? Because it (and the K24) are the last real NA engines that will ever be built by Honda. They will go down in history as some of the best 4 cylinders ever produced by ANY manufacturer. I see much logic in this swap.
Boy I'm pissed he kept his secret about what engine mounts he used. Otherwise I'd have gone straight outside and put a built K series turbo into my pristine Porsche 911 .. 😅😅 Awesome car . One of the top 10 most beautiful cars IMHO.
Awesome build bro, Honda swap all day. Like to see the reaction of the porsche purist admiring the 911, then go to check out what type of flat 6 boxer engine it is, then to find a inline 4 Honda vtec turbo in it's place, hahaha classic reaction. Reminds me of the guy from New Zealand, finding a barn yard broken down ferrari, forget what type, think from factory it was v12 5.0L+ front engine rear wheel drive. He wanted to engine swap something with in his budget & some thing different no chev Ls v8 engine swap, No supra engine 2JZgte swap, no skyline engine rb30det swap.so he went for a rotary 13b turbo from Rx7 series 6+, got it all rigged up, fixed all chassis and rust, about 6 months later it was punching out about 500hp+ very loud rotary pulse, used it in burnout comp, footage went viral that it reached ferrari head quarters and they were very upset that someone rebuilt a ferrari with a rotary turbo engine and not the factory v12 ultimate classic reaction. What's the retail on one of those? More than you can afford pal, barrp barrp barrp barrp barrp barrp barrp ROTARY!. Smok'em
Happy I searched this up it was something I’ve also been thinking about a lot as my dream build one day so this is a nice inspiration that it is possible
hanable moore they have been putting the j35 in miatas. "929evan" has one and it is bad as dude! I don't think a j35 would fit in a 911. But in a miatas it's sick!!! J35 are underrated
They make great power, it's just that it's a big motor and the aftermarket support isn't as large for j series like it is for k series. J series swaps are way more conmon now a days though. A j series Porsche booster would be awesome.
Crx018 nah, can’t use RWB now that it actually has a motor that makes power. RWB you need some clapped out shit to start with and then leave the shit stock motor in there. At least that seems to be the RWB theme: look fast, go slow.
